I've been playing Doom Eternal on the Series X. The graphics are gorgeous, run at a locked 60FPS with Ray Tracing. It also has a 120FPS option. It has had zero slowdown & no bugs with literally a dozen enemies on screen.
Bethesda owns ID Software, so there's literally no reason why they couldn't have used the same engine, which is practically perfect for First Person games, and make some adjustments to make it optimal for Starfield.

It was developed before 2018 & first revealed at QuakeCon. I get that Starfield has supposedly been in development for even longer than that, but sheesh... Starfield is still using an upgraded/modified version of what they developed Elder Scrolls 5 on.
Eternal is the best optimized game I've ever seen. I was getting 500 fps on PC but that makes the AI of some enemies like whiplashes and hell knights go crazy and teleport to you from across the room... not good! So I had to limit it to 250 fps, lol. The performance makes other games seem like a letdown.
Lol yeah it's pretty ridiculous but I could tell the difference between 120 and 240+ fps. I did all my early playthroughs with a fully uncapped frame rate on PC and then later played again on PS5 at 120 fps and I couldn't quickswap properly on PS5 because the timing on the inputs was so much slower. Imagine playing Eternal at 60 fps. It would be so difficult and hard on the eyes.500FPS? That's insane.
Can you really tell the difference when its above 120? Because that's already butter-smooth.
BTW, I'm not an FPS elitist claiming every game would be 120FPS or even 90FPS. Consoles are still pretty powerful but shortcuts have to be made and that's why I am 100% satisfied with 1440P/60FPS.
Anything less than that then the developer fucked up. No question. No excuses. Period.
Wanna skin your Series-X?
I remember paying 10 cents for a Coca-Cola, but you had to leave the glass bottle there.

That baby looks like he pays taxes.
Agreed. I can live without the graphics being photorealistic if the frame rate is decent. There is nothing worse than a game that runs at 30FPS, then dips to like 20 or 15 when a lot of things are on the screen. It drives me nuts that they are still making games run at 30FPS on console just so they can jam a few extra polygons onto each character’s face. But it should be illegal for current gen consoles to publish action games at 30 fps now.
