I don't blame you one bit on that one. There are a handful of okay posts but most of them are pics and videos, "training" videos.

There has been a long standing rumor that Nakai has taken performance enhancing drugs. No proof of any kind but people used to point to her rapid muscle growth as an indicator.

Shield Gaff had some similar fingers pointed at her in the past. Same with Claudia Gadelha.

No proof, just speculation.

Edit: Keep in mind that similar fingers were also pointed at Cyborg. There was no proof but there was plenty of speculation.

Well, Gadelha's avoidance of title fights certainly have not helped her.
 
Well, I will actually defend Rin here: She`s done judo since she was a kid. So, she has big arms, like Ronda. I don`t think there is anything in her build that is more suspicious than say...Dudieva, or Rousey, or McMann. She isn`t "only muscle" and ultra-ripped like Cyborg. Lastly, all of Rin`s fights have been in front of small crowds in tiny venues. I just don`t think she has competed at a high enough level, or for enough money, to warrant taking PEDs. Also...Rin`s weigh-in outfits are still wayyyyyyyyy outdone by Felice Herrig. If they are having that fight in Japan, that will be a nice boost for Rin...and a nice shot in the arm for the UFC in general. I predict Rin will be fairly popular among casual UFC fans, unless she gets destroyed by Meisha.

@Thirpres: Nice photo of "the gang" Interesting to hear that Roxy once considered Rin a potential opponent. I wish I had walked into that restaurant on that day...I would not of been ashamed to walk up and ask for some autographs. And, agree and agree: Tate seems to rank herself higher than she should actually be ranked...and I think Rin could be a troublesome opponent for Miesha. Miesha will not steamroll Rin. I don`t think Meisha is strong enough to hold her down. And if it turns into a ground war, I`m picking Rin. Miesha`s best shot is to keep it standing and not get into a clinch and throw situation. (Yay!)

American wrassler with average standup vs really short ground fighter with no standup=Tate by decision. Height difference will look like Pennington vs Andrade which Pennington arguably won but I don't think Tate will be scared...

Plus fighting in Ultimate Wrestlebox Championship alone seems to rip the soul out of Japanese fighters.

Not really the best argument. You could just as easily argue you take peds in the minors because there is less testing and easier to get away with, while you are trying to build a physique that will propel you to the majors. It's not like the muscle completely disappears if you stop taking AAS.
Not saying that's what happened though, she is short and stocky, and it's easier to look hulking then.

Yeah, but that was Rosi Sexton pointing the finger. She did some finger pointing to Jessica Andrade after their fight too.
 
On paper, I see Miesha beating Rin. But I also said thought that about Miesha against Carmouche and Miesha seemed like she was asleep for the first two rounds in that fight and could have easily lost the decision.
 
Seems very logical about her decision. Why keep chasing a nice win to retire on, when after a nice win your mindset would most likely turn into "Oh I can go on a streak now!". Should be proud she went out fighting high ranked fighters a weight class or two above her own.

There were fingers pointed at Gaff prior to Rosi Sexton but she was there, on Fightergirls forums, back when those conversations were taking place.

I will be quick to add that there were some people who ha been following Gaff for some time and didn't feel it as likely she had taken anything despite her muscle growth.

But as I mentioned earlier, all of this was and is speculation. If proof comes out then you'll hear about, just like with Cyborg and Carina Damm. (Who also had people talking about her, including Rosi Sexton after she fought and defeated her.)

It is worse for Tate in that Carmouche had a busted wrist going into that fight, and it was really messed up by the mid-point in round 1.

I wouldn't be surprised if UFC had to give Rin a high profile opponent in order for her team to agree to sign. Of course Pancrase played a role in this. Some are saying they should of started her slowly and built her up, but that is what she was doing in Pancrase. She needed to fight someone clearly better than Sarah D'Alelio now. Same thing with Holly Holm. The division is so shallow that you can't really build someone. Talent has to rise. I mean Sara McMann won one fight and was fighting Ronda.

Robert Sargent has Miesha at #6 and Nakai at #10. It is not a mismatch. Especially when you consider where it is taking place. Especially when you consider how bad Miesha looked against Liz inn the first two rounds.

As for Miesha, she probably sees it as an easy win against an opponent that will garner a lot of attention.

All suspiciously close to the fights. (Nose break within 5 days, illness 24 hours). Kaitlin Young has also made allegations about shenanigans going on with the broken nose.

I am dissapoint. Should have. Not of. :wink:

Fight matrix has her at 11, so it sounds reasonable (although I think there is some serious issues with their algorithm, we really need a better world ranking).
