Yay, Celine Haga won via armbar in 1st :)

Congrats to Haga. Nice to see her improving after all of her struggles.

I read Haga picked up FOTN and SOTN.

I'm hoping to seeing Bobbi-Jo Dalziel vs. Tamikka Brents at some point.

And congrats to Valerie Letourneau on her big UFC debut and win tonight. Elizabeth Phillips also put on a great fight.

Some other fight results from Brazil. I just did a quick translation from Portuguese, not cleaned up with records, etc..

Elaine Albuquerque won Carina Damm in the Iron Girl Fight, in Bel

also, just a shame that another WBW UFC fight was so mediocre

Welcome aboard, curry junkie. Who's that in the picture with Rousey?

They were two late injury replacements who at least gave fans their moneys worth by actually engaging. Unlike say, Arlovski and Schaub who showed worse striking and just wanted to hump the cage.

Both belong in Invicta. Valerie was signed to fight at 125 in Invicta and I believe that is where she can make the most noise. Phillips showed enough where she would be very interesting in the tumbleweed ghost town that is WBW in Invitca.

cheers, that is the recently retired UK muay thai Queen julie kitchen,14 championship belts won and a record of 47/10/1 although most losses occured when she was green and fighting much more experienced opponents. miriam nakamoto ducked her for ages before they fought, nakamoto won but i think kitchen looked strangely lacklustre that night. she retired afterwards as she couldnt get a rematch. her daughters are no slouch at MT either.

EDIT; record should read 61 wins 9 losses 1 draw.

I've been seeing this listed as having taken place yesterday but it wasn't Carolina Raposo who fought Ricotta as I noted above. Raposo was the originally listed fight but she apparently pulled out or was miss identified from the outset. It could also be due to a different interpretation of her name but if you do a search for her as anything other then Kahop you'll find someone who doesn't fight and only this fight accredited to her.

Graziele Ricotta defeats Carolina Raposo (aka, Carolina Raposo da Silva ) via KO at :47 of round 1.

Carolina Kahop

As show here by Damadeferromma.com:

Translated: Graziele Ricotta Kahop Carolina won by knockout at 47 seconds of the first round in Strong FC.

None Translated: Graziele Ricotta venceu Carolina Kahop por nocaute aos 47 segundos do primeiro round no Strong FC.

Edited to add:

I've been seeing this fighter's page go up and then down again over the past few days. The latest one at least has "Kahop" as a nickname so the identity seems to be pinned down.

Good stuff.

Dunno for just bleed fans, technically it was pretty bad and I could count a shitload of WMMA bouts in Invicta and other orgs that were far better.

Valerie sure fit more @ 125 but even there I could bet she would be a gatekeeper and even in a lower position than Zoila (that btw wanna move back to SW).

Whoaaa! Whoaaaa! Julie Kitchen is/was a great fighter, I will not take that away from you. But, you can`t just come in here and "dis" Miriam like that!:icon_lol: First off, they were in different weight classes, so Miriam was hardly ducking the larger, heavier Julie. Second, Miriam beat Julie. That`s how it went down. Miriam won. Julie lost. Miriam is therefore the true Queen of Muay Thai. As for Julie looking lackluster, I`m sure it wasn`t a motivational thing - that was probably the biggest fight of her career. Let`s just say that the best fighters make even really good fighters look lackluster. Much like Miriam, it`s just a little late in her career for Julie to start MMA. It`s a shame. If they were both 10 years younger, they would be making Ronda and Cyborg worried, I think.

Jarl

P.S. Nice interview with Celine (below). Thanks, Thirdpres. Wouldn`t that be the greatest sports story ever if she just started rattling off wins, got signed by Invicta, continued her winning ways and won the AW belt?

I should have kept up waiting for this last night.

HL - Delaney Owen vs. Shannon Gunville

Since the fight itself was pretty short this HL covers most of it anyways. Gunville had been fighting at bantamweight but moved down to flyweight after picking up a loss against Mariah Prussia (3-0-0) US.

Sarah 'White Tiger' Schneider, on her Facebook page, has been saying for six days she will have the video of her fight with Amber Stautzenberger, from the card Owen vs. Gunville took place, up before long.

I noticed that Riordon was fighting Barefoot the other day. Could make for an interesting fight.

Barefoot had one or two fights lined up with Invicta but her opponent(s) dropped out due to injury.(River-Jones was one of them.) I get the impression she didn't want to take a short notice fight once.

Hamasaki-Sugiyama, good to see Hamasaki moving down to fight at 106 against Sugiyama.

Carmouche fought on two Invicta FC cards, but I think she was just on loan to them from Strikeforce. Kaufmann had to scratch her first fight with Invicta FC due to injury. That one was probably on loan from Strikeforce. She later fought Leslie Smith on loan from the UFC. But I guess being in an event makes you an alumni, even if you were signed to another org.

Yeah I think so.

Sara McMann was on loan from ProElite too and others from Bellator and Jewels

aint gonna argue with you jarl as this is mma forum and not thai, ha! we shall agree to disagree! speaking of which, anyone have a boxer/thai fighter/wrestler in mind they think would make a good mma athlete. or any other sport, ive seen female rugby players just as athletic as wrestlers. jarl i will leave you with a pic of julie, for research purposes you understand...

Good that Ayaka has dropped a division.

Agreed. Assuming she wins against Sugiyama, she instantly becomes the top contender for Michelle Watersons belt. The 105 division is rapidly filling up with badasses. Fantastic.
