Prominent streamer just rage quit it and said it sucked.
Gory and moody, The Callisto Protocol doesn't mess with the survival horror formula, instead embracing all its beats and clichés to tell a grim sci-fi tale that drips with menace.
From what I've seen it looks like it plays like The Evil Within which also got mixed reviews based on its combat. A lot of these reviews seem to say the combat is too hard.
Too hard? Aren’t other reviewers complaining about the lack of NG+?
NG+ is being added later, part of an update. The complaints seem to be a mix between
- Unplayable on PC for 99%
- Game needs NG+
- Combat feels slow and sluggish
- Enemy encounters are thoughtless and at times unfair
I seen GameSpot gave it a 5 because it was too difficult. Polygon said the same as well.Too hard? Aren’t other reviewers complaining about the lack of NG+?
I was watching a Soulsborne streamer play a bit of it to see if I should buy it. He said it's difficult in the wrong ways.I seen GameSpot gave it a 5 because it was too difficult. Polygon said the same as well.
I'm more likely to trust the word of someone like that on the difficulty than a games journalist to be fair lol I remember when Spyro Reignited came out there were some low scores because of difficulty, and don't forget the infamous Cuphead tutorial.I was watching a Soulsborne streamer play a bit of it to see if I should buy it. I think this is about average for survival horror. Most of my RE playthroughs are 12 hours or soI suppose NG+ wouldn't be an issue if the game wasn't like 12 hours long
Which has like 20 extra hours of content. To charge $70 for a 12 hour game which has little to no extra content on launch is a bit of an ask imoI think this is about average for survival horror. Most of my RE playthroughs are 12 hours or so
Yeah this is immeasurably disappointing. I really wanted this to be good.Which has like 20 extra hours of content. To charge $70 for a 12 hour game which has little to no extra content on launch is a bit of an ask imo
