Death Stranding 2 getting insane reviews, went ahead and ordered it. About time I try playing the original.

You haven't played the original? Ooof I would have tried the original first and then see if you like it. I loved it but it's one of those games you either love or hate it. I'm shocked I even liked the game and the combat was my least favorite part of the game.

Nope, never. I can always send back if I just hate it lol.

From what I’ve read it’s a big improvement over the original so I might still be tempted.

Kojima’s never really missed with me so I’m looking forward to checking it out.

I'd hold off until you know it's for you. The Director's Cut is available on PS Plus. I couldn't make it past chapter 3. A lot of walking back and forth and I got pretty bored and deleted it. Also, if you just play the sequel you'll be confused as fuck. There is a lot to digest here and a lot of lore and acronyms to learn.

Here's what I would do if I were you. Pick up Expedition 33 which is still probably my favorite game of the year. The story is a lot shorter than DS2. You can beat it around 25 to 30 hours. After you complete that Donkey Kong is right around the corner. If you start DS2 now not sure you'd get to DK right away if you're excited about that like me lol. Plus that would give you enough time to fight off FOMO and if you truly still want it at that point it's always going to be there to buy. Just my opinion

Really curious how Ghost of Yotei is going to score. Ghost of Tsushima only has an 83. I know it sounds weird typing that but Sony has been knocking it out of the park so often with their single player games that an 83 seems kind of low for them.

I think next month's State of Play will really give us an idea of how much of an improvement it is going to be. If it's just clearing camp after camp I'm not sure it will get higher than an 85. Sadly because I have no interest in Death Stranding 2 that's the only major first party game that I have to look forward to this year.

One last thing before I sleep. I thought this was interesting and it's not really making many headlines. Arc System Works has a showcase on June 27 (this Friday) and why this is potentially one to watch is because they're the devs that Sony teamed up with to make Marvel Tokon. Really hoping we fight out more about the gameplay here and maybe a look at a new character trailer. Anyone else going to be picking up this game next year? 2026 exclusives looking a lot more promising next year than 2025. So far we have Marvel Tokon, Phantom Blade Zero (third party but still console exclusive) , Saros, and maybe Wolverine?

Anyone here playing gt7?
I played a bit earlier this year but put it down pretty much. I never finished the menu book I think I got to around 35. Game is a lot of fun but the races get a bit to long IMO really not a fan of 5 laps 3 seems perfect.

Understandable. It burns you out if you play it for long hours esp the 5 lap races

Zeb, you still enjoying GT7 or have you dipped into something else now? Dawg @Stun Gun just completed menu book 40 for the Lightweight K-Cup.

I still go back to it once in awhile. The recent release of Forza Horizon on PS5 created some racing game competition but I still haven’t quite gotten enough time on that one. Feels like need for speed vs a realistic racing sim but the variety of racing modes in horizon is refreshing compared to GT.

The lightweight K cup had me stuck for a long time. That one was kind of a pain in the ass but the next couple menus are a lot of fun and you start to get real disposable credits to go but fun cars.

What I was really hoping for this summer was the bannerlord DLC but it got delayed, which is too darn bad because I was ready for that naval combat. Trailer looked SICK

That’s probably why I need to take breaks. I’ll go do the 1 hour spa race for a million credits and then I don’t feel like playing anymore haha.

But there is something about going through multiple in game weather cycles and days during the race. Makes you get those Le Mans vibes

I tried to get into Forza but I I guess I just realized I prefer a racing sim where it's taken seriously more than an arcade racer.

Finally got a release date. October 10. Jesus Christ everything is coming out around that time. The digital preorder gets you Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition to play right away. That’s kind of awesome. Might preorder it and start it up tonight. EDIT: forgot ghost of Yotei releases like a couple days before this. Ugh might have to wait it out until I get back from my trip. Anyone buying this?

This looks Tim Burton cool but…dude, Ghost is Ghost. Halloween until year end is absolutely cracking.

Yeah I’m kind of back and forth on it. I do enjoy the open world aspect and variety of game modes, as well as how easy it is to get cars. But the actual driving of the cars isn’t as satisfying
