Preview seem very positive. Really hoping some big titles like monster hunter wilds get some performance boost. Will be completely worth the price for the time I’ll sink into that. Plus I’m looking forward to finishing up rebirth. The performance mode really hurt my enjoyment of that game. Oh and Alan wake dlc too. Dang actually quite a bit to look forward to

Yep I still haven't played DD2, Alan Wake 2, Rift Apart, FF7 Rebirth I want the plat so going back to that. Was going to replay TLOU2 after I'm done with Daybreak but now I'm waiting on that to.

Returnal, Control, Last of Us, Plagues Tale, the new Zelda game etc. So many good games out there with female protagonists. I swear, gamers are some of the thinnest skinned individuals alive. Right now, on Warhammer twitter, there's a ridiculous conversation on whether minorities should be in the game. People with the brain capacity of a squid sitting there counting anyone who isn't white just to complain to their even dumber audience. It's honestly pathetic.

They just want an all white sausage fest. To each their own, I guess.

I thought this State of Play was pretty good. Hell is Us looks unique, Archeage Chronicles looks super cool, new Alan Wake DLC, Astro Bot DLC, new GOT, Legacy of Kain remaster.

Solid B+, IMO.

Hell is Us looks really really good. Keeping my eye on it for sure.

Am I stupid or is having a second PS5 in the same household a complete waste? I was going to get a PS5 pro eventually but after the $700 price drop I said fuck that and got a slim instead and put the launch PS5 in my sons room. Tried to create his own user name. Can't. I can create a new user but it does absolutely nothing, its useless. Basically can't have both PS5s on at the same time then which effectively defeats the purpose. It's a brick without its own PS account.

Fine. I'll make him his own account and pay for PS+ twice. Can't do it. This email is already in use. Create a new email. Can't set up a new account without a manager account. Manager account email already exists.

Unless I'm missing something what a complete waste of fucking time and money. And yeah Sony I'm trying to give you more money and you won't even fucking let me do that.

Strange sounds like you are doing something wrong. Me and my son both have our accounts on my PS5. Worst comes to worst. Just add your account back to the PS5. Then add the account you created for your son to it as well. Just let him know to never log into your account and you should be good.

I was thinking of giving my PS5 to my son after I get the pro but he's like 6 and I just don't feel right giving him a PS5. I want him struggling like I did at his age.

It isnt a big deal in and of itself. If it was an isolated incident I wouldnt think much of it at all, but Sony has replaced almost ALL of their main characters with a protagonist with a better ESG score.

Drake? Replaced in the latest Uncharted title by a brown woman.
Joel? Replaced by a lesbian character, humiliated and beaten to death by a masculine looking female to boot in Last of Us part 2.
Peter Parker? Officially replaced by half black half hispanic Miles at the end of Spider-Man 2.
Jin? Replaced by a female who's voice actor is a woke alphabet cult member.
Even Ratchet had to share time with a female variant of his in Rift Apart.

Add this into making Aloy canonically lesbian in Forbidden West's DLC. Even Kratos might get sidelined for his much less masculine son in the next title.

It isnt an accident and people arent crazy for noticing it.

I actually think it takes mental gymnastics to ignore the pattern at this point. It isnt a coincidence.

I'm not even claiming it should bother you by the way. If you love any or all of the games I mentioned good for you. I just don't believe that going from the vast majority of first party protagonists being straight and white to having maybe one left is an accident. Nor do i think at least two of the female main characters being gay is.

I think men seriously underestimate how many females are gamers now. Gatekeeping the hobby isn't cool. If we look at gaming as a whole it is still completely dominated by male characters. You would need a decade or two of nothing but female protagonists to even get close to evening the odds. I in no way feel threatened that my hobby is being destroyed like so many other reactionaries do. Look at the month of October and tell me it isn't absurdly stacked with games of all genres and all types of characters.

Here's a couple of facts. 41% of console owners in the USA are female. One third of PS5 owners are female and if we look at worldwide numbers they roughly half of all gamers. I think one of the reasons guys assume that the number is smaller is because most females are utterly terrified of talking online. We've all see the toxicity in a multiplayer game. As soon as a girl speaks up they get comments like "bitch", "slut" , "are you hot?" , etc. My point is that I think it's important to remember that just because they don't post online as much or chat as much in a group doesn't mean that they don't exist.

I think I should also add that I have a daughter. She's way too young for games now but even companies like Nintendo are putting out games such as Princess Peach and Zelda (playable Zelda) so clearly businesses see a market there. I'm glad as a parent that she'll have access to these games as she gets older.
