My buddy has had PSVR2 with the Pulse Elite headphones for months and he just found out that you're supposed to put the headset OVER the headphones.
 
Valorant is playable on PS5 today, I was told. Anyone instal?

PS Plus Extra and Premium's player count for July 2024 saw a big drop compared to last month, even if you don't count the bonus Days of Play games in June.

I wouldn't read too much into this. Game releases have been pretty awful in June and July and people are on vacation now.

I imagine the player count will go up in the fall because we're about to get slammed with a ton of releases.
 
Visions of Mana demo just dropped. Probably my most anticipated game after Astro Bot. Really cool to see more demos coming out. Square Enix has been really good about that.
 
Sony appears to be starting a new trend of awarding additional points to those who preordered first party titles digitally as part of their PlayStation stars program. Of course they’ve always offered 10 points for every dollar spent but now they’re giving away some more through campaigns which is nice. You get 150 if you preordered Astro bot and 100 for Concord.

I thought PS Plus Extra and Premium didn’t do day 1 releases like Game Pass? As such subscription amounts shouldn’t jump back up with the new games coming out in the next couple of months.

I don’t really recognize any of those titles so I assume none of them are big AAA type releases. I don’t know exactly what titles @Zazen was referring to anticipating in the coming months so I’m not sure of the likelihood of them being PS+ day one release or not.

Just wanted to add that I understand this seeming non-news (price drop = sales, big whoop) but what's telling rather to me is barriers to entry for VR are more than just price point; it's still a grey-area tech for the vast majority of people (ample play space, motion render sensitivities etc), so the price adjust removing this one hurdle re cost can get that many more people to try it out and see. My take. This is good.

Also the rollout for the PC adapter and Pc only PSVR2 app rollout starts on the 6th so it looks good to have a price drop / easier availability for anyone interested

No, they don't. Sorry maybe my post was confusing. I meant that when people turn on their PlayStation they're more likely to go into their PS Plus catalog. It being summer and there not being many big releases simply means less people in general are playing across the board, not just PS Plus titles.

I'm basing this on the numbers I see on PSNprofiles. It keeps track of what users are playing. The numbers are lower than usual and some of the most played games are free stuff like ZZZ and First Descendent. Shows that there's a lack of titles right now but I expect the player count to go up in August, September, and October because we about to get hit with a load of games.
