Wiped it.
lol no problem. Sony goes so crazy with their marketing it’s hard to tell fact from fiction. Honestly what gave it away was the gta vi game case. No way they have cover art available yet when they just shown one trailer. Rockstar does their own thing

Yeah, good catch. I even watched it before posting and thought the advertisement itself maybe…fan-made, but like you said, we’ve gotten used to apartment-sized Leviathans of Kratos and streetside Aloys atop Stalkers so I wasn’t sure.

So I tried out my PSVR2 yesterday, played about 20 minutes or so of Horizon Call of the Mountain. It’s pretty cool so far but I have to say that I’m a bit surprised and disappointed that I can’t see without corrective lenses. I’ve been nearsighted for almost 35 years, but I had hoped that the lenses would be close enough to my eyes that I would be fine. Either the lenses sit further from my eyes than I expected or my nearsightedness is worse than I realize. I tried it with my glasses and everything was rather blurry so I guess that every time I want to play with my VR I’m going to need to put in contact lenses which is kind of a bummer. I used to wear contacts non-stop from age 13 to about age 34 when I developed a sensitivity to them. These days I only wear my contacts like once every two weeks or so.

@Sycho Sid was the first trails game turn based or action? It’s interesting how in the remake you can choose. I know it’s many months away but I’m already thinking which one will be the better option lol

Turn based. They have all been turn based. The Daybreak games have limited action gameplay that can be turned to turn based with a button. All boss fights are straight turn based.

The action stuff in Daybreak is mostly used to quickly beat groups of weak enemies, or create opening advantages for tougher fights.

No idea exactly how Sky remake will work

They’re remaking the first in the trails series. I hope they remake the others. Might be time for me to jump in this fall.

Yea I heard they were doing a remake and while I love the series I had no desire to replay this game.

Then I saw the reveal and it’s day 1 for me. Didn’t think for one minute this small dev would remake the game to this extent. They better follow through and do this with #2 now.

Definitely. Number 2 is on of the best in the series, and really does some heavy lifting on the world building.

So … is the ps5 pro worth it ?
Yes it is imo. There are some games that completely elevate the experience. One is Final Fantasy Rebirth. This game is a blurry mess on PS5 base but it runs at locked 60 FPS and has better graphics than the fidelity mode of the base. Tons of other games also look way better like Stellar Blade, Lords of the Fallen, Horizon remaster and Forbidden West, Space Marines 40k. However, I think the real benefit is future proofing your console for the next four years. Games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Split Fiction, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Dynasty Warriors Origins all release within the first couple of months in 2025 and are all PS5 pro enhanced on day one.

Then there's also the chance that PS6 sells out or we have another pandemic and cross gen games will still be available on the pro even if you can't get your hands on the new console in 2028 when it releases

One more thing, I'll add that even if you aren't impressed with the graphics it's just going to be nice to have games run consistently at 60 FPS while also looking good. No more sacrificing graphics for framerate or vice versa.

But at the end of the day....its a 1000$ investment...of course its way less than a performance PC. I give it this.

thank you for the video.
ROI for you is your call but ask yourself how much time you have to game. 2h evenings? More? Less? It will likely prove pence per hour for the entertainment provided over time.

I've not once in my life regretted picking up a gaming device from Sony. Immersive memory after memory and award-topping journeys without worry for cheaters and burnout from working on PC all day. Gaming investment, honestly, should be compared to what you'd spend on yourself not recreationally but therapeutically – because that's what gaming is for the mind: creative medicine and a competitive, high-strategy outlet.

Get right, dawg. Time to heal. *paging Dr Sony

For any Qs you have, we have you 100. Best peripherals, games, name it.

If you had three non PlayStation games that you could include to the ps5, what will they be?
For me it's.

1- Mario maker and I've been dreaming about this for years lol. At the very least we could do with a similar style game using a suitable Sony IP

2- a Total war game. One of the historical ones. Used to play them all the time back in the day.

3- I'll go with zelda

Non-PS is slim pickings. I’d go with Where Winds Meet and Bleak Faith.

I still haven't played Wukong but a buddy of mine has gobs of time in it so I'm always tempted. The UE5 title is prettier than ever now for PS Pro werewolves after newest patch:

The Black Myth: Wukong PlayStation 5 Pro PSSR upscaler implementation is among the best we have seen to date for an Unreal Engine 5-powered game.
