According to leak (so possibly false) Concord was WAAAY bigger fail than declared

400million budget and supposed to be "future of PlayStation"

AHAHAHAH

Meanwhile team of 60 people including some from Japan Studio wich got the axe from Sony (after delivering some of most beautiful games of PS history), just released Astro Bot getting love and 10/10s (and hopefully money$) everywhere

Rare, but sometimes universe works right lol

Yea I saw that. Link below for anyone interested.

I think the most concerning thing for me here is that Herman Hulst believed in this game so much. It wasn't a terrible game but I don't see how he could have thought it was so great.

Also I originally thought they should keep this studio onboard but after finding out about this toxic positivity thing maybe they should get rid of them. Either that or get rid of whoever thought that was a good idea. You should never run a company where bringing up negative things about your product to improve is considered a taboo.

Days gone starts off very generic and very boring. I think I played one mission a day for like a good week. It picks up though and is a great game but yea that start is very slow.
Well I’ll give this remaster a shot if it’s true then.

Im calling bullshit on this. Source is from a guy on a podcast? 400 million? 265 million was the budget for the last GTA game. Even with inflation this was more. It’s also way more than Spider-Man 2. I get 200 million but 400 million and not the cost of the studio including? Hmmmm not so sure

Japan studio wasn’t making money though. I’m not denying they were great games, they clearly were. But you got to remember that the internet is a vocal minority. Reality is if people supported them more they wouldn’t be shut down. It’s why I post indie games here and other stuff because I want people to support those games

I mean rumor is he's likely been biggest knife on Japan Studio's back, that's the kind of pos that would have murdered Team Asobi too if they bombed, yet would maybe try save Concord people

And if you get tryhardest california-sony defenders that would say JS execution was right, because TLG has been incredible damage/budget black hole for Sony... people fail to realize TLG costed for sure waaaaaaay less than Concord and while selling poorly still sold almost somewhere between 1 to 2million copies (getting very good reviews/people score) while being very niche game with atrocious rep/marketing/history

Reality is simply you have at Sony high levels same kind of political activist shits that are infesting other areas of american entertainment industry, so guess they will either save Concord people or throw these weirdos under the bus and invest big money in some other similar experiment in same direction to proof the problem was just the team lol

I mean what other games "Firewalk Studios" did?
None, Concord was first job
Studio don't even have a fucking wikipedia page lmao
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Studios#Firewalk_Studios

Yet they gave them ?00.000$ budget

Tbh i hope they try again and bomb again, as much i hope Astro Bot get sells as many copies as possible lol

I think that's part of the reason they didn't give Hulst full CEO control and paired him with the accounting guy. Hulst wont be able to do the same thing again because that accounting guys means business and he's not going to let anymore money be wasted like this on failed projects.

I honestly wonder if the other CEO is why the game was pulled so quickly. He probably realized there was no saving this game and all they would be doing is wasting more money on character videos and seasons. Hulst would really have no answer to that and would be forced to agree or otherwise look like an idiot continuing to support a failing game.

Will be interesting to see what Sony does from here. It's crazy how Sony had the best and worst GAAS game release this year.

I haven't seen a post on this but this might be a sign of good things to come if we get more dormant IP from Sony. The surprising part is they are licensing it to Bandai Namco. This game originally released on the PS Vita. If this succeeds they might license more of their IP out. Might pick this up just so that it sends a message.

This was literally why I'd stubbornly voted Financials wiz in our poll above, lol.

The ability to organise and manage money never, ever, ever goes hand in hand with the ability to imagine and create – not at the level market leaders like Sony need to execute on at least.

We need a money guy, and we need a people guy who oversees a handful of crazy Kojima cats. The Kojima cats are checked and balanced by people guy, who is equally checked and balanced by money guy. Hermen playing people and money guy = unwise.

Been seeing alot of rumors about this on Twitter over the last few days.

I platted the original and loved it; would not play a remaster (no point). I would, however, go all-in and preorder a sequel or even prequel (early NERO, pre-mutations) were Bend to announce as much.

This.
Played it after a few patches (IIRC a lot of negative reviews at launch were due to how buggy it was) and had a good time with it but I don't feel like replaying it with better graphics. Would be all over a sequel though.

Thursday is going to be wild. 30th anniversary products and PS5 Pro preorders all in the same day. I mean we’re talking about a website that was wrecked by an AstroBot controller preorder. I just want to lock in my Pro preorder.

I'm thinking about picking up the game, eventually. how is the crafting aspect of the game?
