They backtracked on that actually.

The government saw the stocks plunge and they thought maybe it's a better idea to not have restrictions so that part of their economy can grow.
Did not know of the walk-back. Interesting.

More gameplay from The First Berserker. Looks really great. Hope it comes out in January or February.

This could be good if they get some decent enemy and boss designs. Combat looks nice.

Got to love point systems. I've seen so many change in ridiculous ways. Traveling a lot for work and we get to keep our Hotel, Flight, Rental Car etc points. At one time I had over 200,000 United flight miles saved up only for them to vanish when they changed the rules. Now I only use Hilton and Delta because my points don't expire....yet.

Not sure what it is but since he showed me this, I've listed the game at the top of my game watchlist behind only Phantom Blade Ø. Looks super fun + dual-wield w/ parry. There's a book I read when young called The Crystal Shard; this reminds me of that.

It looks really promising. I wishlist all the soulslikes and most are still sitting there lol

I keep hoping a new studio comes out with some crazy innovation that changes everything and they become a new trailblazer in the genre.

Goff did say at the end of Gamescon to make sure you tune into the GameAwards because “it’ll give you a glimpse of where games are headed in the next decade” whatever that means.

I'll keep an ear open but it's probably nothing. He always says shit like that.

If you watch the show and want the winners to be revealed to you there will be a microtransaction charged to your credit card for each reveal.

Concord might be the biggest flop in gaming history. You guys been paying attention to this shit? Concord peaked at 697 players on Steam on RELEASE DAY. Now granted, the game has more sales on PS5 but it's probably safe to assume that the sales are only a few times bigger than that. At most we are looking at 10,000 sales between both PS5 and PC. Jesus Christ lol....... this game has expensive looking cinematics, animated shorts, a controller, many different trailers, etc. It's rumored to have costed 100 million dollars and Sony even bought Firewalk for this. I can't say this enough but someone at Sony is fucking up big time and not understanding what people want to play. When people said DOA I thought they were just being harsh but man it really does feel like this game will be pulled in less than a year and a lot of job losses. Hard to imagine Fairgames doing any better.

I actually think the game is pretty fun but you can't just chase trends and then release something 8 years later. It's no coincidence that Overwatch released in 2016 and this game was 8 years in development. It would be like some dev saw how Fall Guys got popular but then released their game 8 years later that was extremely similar but charged way more money for it.

I don't know man.... I love Sony but it may be time to pull the plug on this live-service endeavor. Astro Bot is coming out in less than two weeks and I'm praying that game sells very well because I want Sony to move in that direction badly.

Never played and I don't usually cheer for games to fail but if this is some kind of prelude to mainstreaming live service then let it sink!

Yea I knew it would be bad. I think they need to continue to peruse live service just not so much. Hell divers 2 was a massive hit.

I think a major problem is AAA game development takes so fucking long that if you’re chasing a trend you’re at a colossal disadvantage because you’re betting that in half decade tastes haven’t drastically changed or that your competitors haven’t cooked up something new and unique that makes your game look old and out of touch on release. It’s so different than the 90s where game development took about a year or so, and every year something would come out that blows the previous years games out of the water. For example, in the span of 7 years from 1992 to 1999 id software went from Wolfenstein to Doom to Quake to Quake 2 then Quake 3 and each of those were significant leaps over their predecessors in graphics and gameplay. These days a game can take half a decade or more to make and it maybe brings nothing new to the table at all.
