Multiplat Official Lies of P (Pinocchio Souls) Discussion

Ran through a few more of the Swamp monster fight in some close losses, then took a breather to collect some Fire Abrasives to keep my weapons loaded with flame damage. Went back for another go and absolutely wrecked him. Only got down to 50% health and full cells going into phase 2. Started the second phase and refreshed my health, durability, and fire damage, and smashed him. Didn’t even boost my specter with a wish. I did swap my Dancer Blade handle with the Bramble Sword handle. Similar standard attack move set, but the charge attack has a huge increase in range. A little longer in charge time, but only a single hit and similar damage.
I can't get past him. I can get through phase 1 unscathed but as soon as phase 2 hits I'm done. I can't keep up with his attacks. As soon as he aggro me I'm dead. I've looked up every strategy I can find but as soon as my specter is dead I have no way to even hit him.

that’s another one I’ve read about I’m dreading. Typically bosses I may struggle with I get mechanics down and eventually beat. I hate these gank fest style fights where they just throw multiple targets to overwhelm with numbers.

I surprisingly beat it on the 8th try and I am usually a 10-12 tries on the harder bosses but because I practice first. I nearly thought I couldn't get passed the fire king boss until I looked up a guide.

Overall the second brotherhood fight was mid difficulty if you just fight against the person buffering there weapon + going behind an unsuspecting one and laying them out. The second phase is very messy and the forum you fight in is an obstacle course. Getting really tired of 2 phase bosses...some should just be one phase in these genres. Overusing it now

Well, I feel like I'm at the final boss but not sure yet. Let's see what happens after.

My phase 1 times went way down once I started using fire abrasives on him. The fire grindstone lasts longer but won't hold out the whole fight, but since it's a single use you can't reapply. You can buy fire abrasives in infinite supply from the black market vendor right before the first black rabbit brotherhood fight, in the lobster hotel. Going in with 3 abrasives and equiped grindstone was enough to keep fire up the whole time.

The boss is crazy weak to fire and it felt like it more than doubled my damage output, allowing me to get to phase 2 with my spectre at like 80% health, and that was without boosting his defense with a wish on the run I took him out. The fight ended with spectre almost dead, so keeping him high health into phase 2 was key for me.

This lightning bitch may be the end of my playthrough. It's not fun. Phase two is so fast and cheap it's insane.

I've tried everything. I've watched every cheese video on YouTube, I've tried throwables, fire grindstones, specter boosts everything. I don't understand why my throwables do almost no damage while online they melt him. Scaling? I have virtually no offense during his second phase after my specter dies. This is probably the end of the line for me. I'm WELL over 100 attempts.

Edit: got him lol.

Don't give up now! You got this dude.
Uninstalled for now. Had her down to one hit when she decided to jump 50 feet In the air causing my fabled art to miss and then hit me with a cheap AoE while she was aggrod to the specter. Completely awful boss fight,

Just beat the black rabbit gang v.2. Wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. First try went in with the spectre and no wish. Took out 2 of the gang before the big guy joined and my spectre died right away leaving me with 2 on 1. Was low on health and got caught in a crazy long combo. Went back and boosted his defense. Happened to to pull 2 back stabs on the spear guy back to back and KO'd him almost right away. The other 2 kept switching focus at bad times for them and got some back stabs and took them both out before the big guy hit and it was 2 on 1 in my favor. Took a sec while spectre had 2/3 life to heal and use a fire grind stone. He got nailed with a huge combo and almost killed him right off the bat. Kept the pressure on to keep him in the fight and burned him down with not to much effort. Glad that one is behind me, hate gank battles.

I'm in Chapter 11, just making it to the Black Shore, and something that has been bothering me as a slight annoyance seems painfully obvious here in the end. The upgrade materials are completely borked.

I unlocked through the supply crate the tier 3 upgrade mats to buy in infinite supply, but kept finding tons of tier 2 items. Then in this last chapter they're throwing me tier 1 mats, wtf?

Special weapon upgrades have been crazy rare. I've had a weapon standard +9 for a long time before I was finally able to get the final full moonstone to level a special weapon to +4, and the first one o got was from a supply crate. I didn't find one until much later, but now I still need 1 more get to +5 when I already have to standard weapons at +10. Just seems like a silly oversight when spacing materials.

Ng+ is pretty easy so far. Probably because I know where everything is and I can just run there. Living puppet axe and baton handle ftw this playthrough.

Got the bad ending. Guess I gotta play again!

Oh no, I made a post about uploading a save to cloud for that reason. You've got to do 3 playthroughs instead of 2 to see them all now. The bad ending leaves you with two left.

It's crazy how many people seem to be having trouble with the Swamp monster. I had him on my 3rd try somehow but the one that I really struggled with was Simon in his second phase.

Streamers I watched got demolished by it too. Even Max struggled and he's pretty good at these games

Swampy was tough but also became my fav boss fight so far.
