Multiplat Official Lies of P (Pinocchio Souls) Discussion

Just had first encounter. Got to half health and it did the add thing. Died because I was low on healing. Gonna probably stock up on throwable and cheese.
Just sidestep by hugging her and walking in a circle around her. She’ll miss a lot and you can get in two attacks or so each time. You don’t need to waste ergo on items then

If you guys are interested in seeing all three endings I highly suggest saving the game to cloud after finishing off the final boss ( you probably already know who he is) so you don’t need to do three separate runs. You can get two endings on one playthrough this way. One ending is the bad ending which is always guaranteed by making a certain choice at the end. Once you experience this ending upload the old save and make the other choice. This ending will depend on whether you told the truth or lied. Consistency in these choices is key to determining that ending. I tried not to spoil anything.

Boss sucks cock. Got to like two hits left my first attempt trying this strat and now cheap bullshit is ensuing

That thing took me like an hour to beat until I figured out you can sidestep her and get in a few attacks each time. Try that if you’re struggling still
This strat is difficult with a heavy weapon.

Took about a week off for vacation. Left stuck on the Puppet Master but just finished him pretty easily after about 30 minutes.

I'm still using the starting rapier lol. I need to work on that. Just got the puppet ripper. May try that.

Damn, thanks. That made it too easy lol. At least that's out the way, though. As is Corrupt Parade Master.

I'm guessing i'm in the end game now. Hopefully finish this before Lords Of The Fallen release. Assuming i can make it through the horrific sounding endgame.

Ok what's the strat for corrupted parade master? May be the worst boss in the game tbh

After that each boss is incredibly difficult , that was the last somewhat easy boss at least imo. I had more trouble with the last few bosses than any others in the game except maybe puppet king

You should be able to, if you slaughter the bosses pretty easily you have at most 3 hours or so left. If you have trouble like I did you might spend a quarter of your playtime on the last few guys. I really struggled with some of these final bosses

Finally got around to starting this morning. Only a few hours in and just cleared the Scrapped Watchman. Could clear phase 1 fairly consistently, but was struggling in phase 2. Was saving my star summon items because they seemed pretty limited. Decided to use one to see how effective summons were and absolutely wrecked his shit. The summon itself wasn't terribly effective, but just having the boss attention allowed me to pour on the damage. The boss itself doesn't have anything crazy hard, but I'm struggling to get the timing of dodges and perfect bocks down. I'll do great with the perfect block, but then go on a stretch where I eat everything. The i-frames seem just as finicky.

It's why I couldn't get into this or Wo Long. If you're gonna make a tough ass Souls like, you best make sure the mistakes feel like my own, and not some finicky parry/dodge system. Otherwise, I'm not gonna have the patience for it.

This. I'm enjoying the game but the mistakes never feel like my own fault. Maybe I just suck though.

So you're telling me they took the gank fight from the Sunken King DS2 DLC and managed to make it WORSE?!
<mma3>
This may be the end of the road for me.

From the minimal footage I saw before buying the game I saw that and almost didn't purchase lol

I'm at chapter 9 and the perfect block is still a complete crap shoot for me.

Wo-Long was way better than this. Once you figured out if you had to block early or late or was consistent. I just can't get the hang of this.

You just reminded me that WoLong DLC 2 is out

I agree, actually. "Wo Long" felt good to play for the most part, despite it's wonky parry system, that was a few rungs under the pitch perfect "Sekiro"(which kicked my ass to hell, but never felt bad to play). From the outset, this game just felt stiff and bullshitty. It is still a good first effort from the developers, though. They put a lot of heart into it, but those mechanics just never felt right to me.
