Multiplat Official Lies of P (Pinocchio Souls) Discussion

I just beat Champion Victor. What a great fight that was, the bosses have been amazing in this game. Unfortunately they are nerfing so much of the game in the latest patch. I always hated that because it makes me feel like all that hard work I put in was for nothing. Call me an elitist or whatever but I don’t think devs should cave in to casuals complaining. Everyone knew what this game was about after playing the demo. Not understanding why they had to do this, hopefully the health reductions and things like that are minor. If it's something absurd like 30-50% reduction then that's just disappointing.
I don't think the nerfs were that serious

Yeah fuck the swamp boss. Combat in this game is garbage. To say it's on par with From is an insult to everything Miyazaki has accomplished

Walker of Illusions is harder than any boss I’ve faced so far and it’s just some random miniboss. So damn annoying

Did you fight that fat bastard clown that just twirls endlessly?

Mad Clown Puppet? Yeah he sucks... he's one of the other tougher mini bosses I faced.

I hated how you had to clear the enemies on the street. I ended up cheesing him a bit by running past him and using the stargazer before the opera house. You can land a charged attack on him before he notices once he resets and you don't have to clear out those enemies anymore.

Did you kill those 2 puppets of future in that area before the green swamp monster?

Yeah those were easy, i just waited until he did his stomp attack then went in and landed 2 or 3 attacks at a time. I didn't even kill the guy firing missiles, I found that it helped actually because they hit the puppet most of the time since he's so big.. They each drop a quartz

Ok I'm gonna have to go back. I skipped a lot of the mini bosses for the sake of progress and I fear my character is underdeveloped because of it.

Retried that boss a few times. The boss is complete dog shit. Like the devs should be ashamed of themselves. They fucking add attacks based on player positioning. Incredibly cheap. Grab attack doesn't even line up with player geometry, it just grabs you no matter what.

Maybe we just play games differently, but I'm loving this. It took me a little bit to get used to the deflect timing, but once it clicked it was Sekiro-like in how I was feeling the attack rhythms (albeit this doesn't capture that same feeling of "fighting" the boss that Sekiro does due to its slower pace) and all of my deaths have felt fair. I find I have to focus on positioning and just mastering the attack patterns of each boss or mini-boss; this game feels like it rewards that more than dodging/rolling, relative to the From titles

I don't hate the game as a whole, this boss in particular sucks ass.

Just beat the swamp boss. Definitely an asshole but a cool fight and enemy design. The second phase transition was awesome. The grab attack was kinda bullshit and there are some hitbox issues with it's acid spit and second phase charge but i enjoyed the fight over all.

Now running about with the Katana which has a fucking cool moveset. The R2 parry is gonna take even more pain and tears to get the timing on but this is my weapon now. The Rapier has served me very well indeed and can get some rest.

Beat the game just now, unfortunately the last quarter of the game kind of stinks. The last act in particular goes on and on and on. The boss difficulty is absurd in the late game. I was originally planning to give it a 9 but I might drop it to 8. Still a good game though but it got really cheap towards the end by throwing big enemy after enemy at you with stargazers far between. I originally wanted to platinum the game but that last act was so stressful I think I’m happy with simply beating it, can’t wait to see how the rest of you feel once you complete it

Beat that shit bag monster (pelted it with every throwable item I had while the specter took aggro)
