Elections Official Joe Biden Sundowning Megathread

Trump didn't get re-elected nor has a chance in 2024. The sooner you drop the schtick the quicker we can move on.

Nice deflection.

Actually, no it wasn't. It was about as pathetic and any attempt of Biden to appear competent.

I think Biden's done a pretty good job so far. Job numbers, GDP numbers are all very good, we finally got out of Afghanistan, infrastructure bill coming up, reversed a lot of very bad environmental deregulations from the previous administration, stock market keeps going up and up, etc.

Because, you see, a guy who's run for President twice now and lost by 10 million votes cumulatively is clearly the best choice..........

You call him that but what is getting fucked up? You can say Afghanistan but that was a hot mess that even Trump wanted out of. Calling out Biden on anything but his policies is just grasping at straws. If his administration still gets stuff done while working with an old guy, I don't care. If this bothers you, where were you when Mr.Orange was struggling to put together sentences?

This is exactly true. Biden's clearly an old guy who's lost a step, however getting out (finally) of Afghanistan is clearly a great achievement that he should take credit for and likely will once more time has lapsed.

No one thinks he "seriously" nibbled her finger bro.

Just "actually".

What in god's name are you talking about? He playfully "nipped" her finger while she was talking on stage and he was right next to her and her hand accidentally came close to his face. That's all that happened.

Almost all of them lose a step. I think very little of Trump's intelligence but if you compare him to him in the 90s, he clearly has lost a few steps. Bush Jr. lost a few pegs with age, stress, and alchoholism catching up. If you watch Bush Jr. talk when he was governor of Texas, he was a pretty sharp guy. Obama was extremely sharp but he was a very young president. Same with Clinton. Reagan was a drooling mess by the time his second term ended. Carter was tack sharp but young. Nixon was still pretty sharp in old age. Johnson was sharp but died soon after his term ended. JFK was sharp but very young. Eisenhower was pretty sharp. Truman was kind of average. FDR was extremely sharp but in very poor health. I don't know how much it matters. Being the president is quantum physics. It is political and knowing how to get stuff done. FDR was pretty amazing in how he rallied the U.S. during WW2. You have to be smart but lets not pretend it is a technicians job or that much of the staff isn't responsible for the "hard stuff". If you ask me what Trump's biggest failing is, it is a complete inability or desire to gather consensus on needed legislation. Aside from many other failings, the guy couldn't work with people. He was a polarizing figure that couldn't or wouldn't reach across the aisle to work to fix problems. Some of that I believe was poor pedigree and the rest was a lack of intelligence needed to recognize what needed to get done and how to work with people to make your idea happen.

Everything you avoided responding to in my 2nd post to you.

You can say Afghanistan but that was a hot mess that even Trump wanted out of.

Yeah, everyone wanted out of Afghanistan, but we also didn't want...
*Taliban in complete control of the country.
*Abandoning thousands of US citizens and interpreters.
*The Biden administration to give the names and addresses of the citizens and interpreters to the taliban to be hunted down (at worst) or held hostage for billions of dollars (at best).
*$75+ Billion of arms, military vehicles, and ammo abandoned to the taliban.

We wanted out of Afghanistan, not to hand the taliban absolutely everything on a silver platter in a humiliating defeat on the international stage not seen since Vietnam, and this may actually be worse. Time will tell.

Calling out Biden on anything but his policies is just grasping at straws.

Oh sure, those policies you avoided addressing in my 2nd post.

'Working with?'

You actually believe "My butt's been wiped" Biden is in charge of anything in the white house?

He's the figurehead. The puppet put out as the friendly face to the public.

As for 'getting stuff done' yeah, they certainly are... and its pure failure.

If this bothers you, where were you when Mr.Orange was struggling to put together sentences?

There's a difference between fumbling words in a speech or interview, which Obama also occasionally did too, and constant and obvious examples of advancing dementia.

Here's something we both could possibly agree on - How about no one over 70 should be elected President? (Yeah, that includes Trump)

I guess you are not aware that Trump basically handed over the country to the Taliban. This was in the works long before Biden even if Biden executed it. It starts feeling silly when someone complains about Biden handing over the country to the Taliban when it is obvious that was what was going to happen in Trump's negotiations with the Taliban. Basically, we are leaving. Let's do a prisoner swamp and promise us you won't work with Al-Qaeda. The Afghanistan national government WASN'T EVEN INVITED TO THE TALKS. That is how much the Afghan government was out of the picture. That is how much the U.S. and the Trump administration gave a fuck about the Afghan government. Everyone knew that the Afghanistan government only existed because it was propped up by the U.S. government. It is a pretty hot take to start blaming Biden for the Afghan government collapsing.

Afghan conflict: Trump hails deal with Taliban to end 18-year war

""I really believe the Taliban wants to do something to show we're not all wasting time," he added. "If bad things happen, we'll go back with a force like no-one's ever seen." said Trump.

"
In addition to withdrawing US and allied troops, the deal also provides for a prisoner swap.

Some 5,000 Taliban prisoners and 1,000 Afghan security force prisoners would be exchanged by 10 March, when talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government are due to start.

"In a speech, Mr Pompeo urged the militant group to "keep your promises to cut ties with al-Qaeda"."
"
""I hope that with the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Afghanistan the Afghan nation under an Islamic regime will take its relief and embark on a new prosperous life," he said."
  • Donald Trump's former National Security Adviser, John Bolton, has criticised the deal, and said it endangered American lives by "legitimising" the Taliban.

I don't know what you mean by this.

Maybe my post wasn't clear; a POTUS doesn't even need to keep track of the time himself as everyone around him is there to keep him on schedule at all times.
Oh well yea this was during the dignifying of dead soldiers arriving by plane a lot of presidents have done this. They never had film crews while the dead soldiers came by airplane but Biden allowed it and got caught looking at his watch I think 5 times which is probably not on purpose he has dementia and is lost.

Such a BS post ... Trump started it so therefore it's his fault for the failure of tactual planning on every level... Biden had no problem reversing and undoing everything else Trump did, Keystone, Border policies, non tans in military, Pulling out of Paris agreement ect... but this one ! Ole Biden couldn't do it.

Ah, gotcha, I thought I remembered others being filmed but am probably just remembering photos. 5 times in how long a span?

Tell me yes or no if Trump negotiated the pull out with the Taliban. Answer that question and you made my point.

I think Biden is the worst president the US will ever have had and the way they are pulling out of Afghanistan is shameful but the main mistake was done when they entered the country!!!!

Instead of taking over and building this country up under western governance they decided to support a corrupt local clan leader. Again and again the same mistake western politicians make and its a grave one. With Karzai there was never a chance to really make something out of Afghanistan. The US, Great Britain, France etc did a tremendous job in parts building the country again, helping and gaining trust but everything was then destroyed by corrupt Karzai regime soon after. The local people most often supported the western troops who behaved civilized and protected them. But Karzai regime would sell military leader positions to the highest bidder, would behave as criminal scum so much that the americans hated the official Afghan army sometimes at least as much as the Taliban and local support went away,

There was one way to build this country and defeat the Taliban and the west blew it bigtime. Kill the Taliban, hunt them down AND take over the country via nation building and school the next generation of AFghan people in how to govern their country. Only then give them control back. Include only personel without any corruption going on. Be in it for the long haul. Afghanistan would have been THE success. It would have worked and hundreds of thousands of people especially women were very glad that the Taliban got pushed back. Taliban arent Afghan freedom fighters.

In many areas were british or us troops controlled the area they were welcomed. Taliban are very bad for Afghanistan , but as much as it hurts me to say the Taliban are better for the country than Karzai and his croonies who just bled everyone.
Its very sad as right now a lot of people are killed

Ah it's only absolutes huh? Well it's all our faults for USA exiting this would not of happened if there was no America.

I guess you are not aware that Trump basically handed over the country to the Taliban. This was in the works long before Biden even if Biden executed it.

You know what separates you leftists from practically everyone else?

The lack of critical thinking skills.

Trump fully enabled and authorized the military to hunt down ISIS leadership and eradicated everyone and everything in their way.

And.... you actually think for the taliban, who's been a far bigger threat to Americans than ISIS, that Trump would just surrender Afghanistan to them? Abandoning thousands of US citizens to those who want to murder them?

No, you idiot, he negotiated a ceasefire, for them to stay in their own territory and leave the major-populated cities alone.

Now would the taliban have kept the deal? Doubtful. But they'd be far more fearful of Trump than Biden if they didn't. Biden is the only President dumb enough to withdraw ALL military support which would have acted as air support for the Afghan military.

By the way, you obviously haven't received your talking points from the MSM, but in short in their view the entire operation has been a complete success.

Yes, that's right, in the last 2 weeks, the administration has...
*Surrendered all of Afghanistan.
*Abandoned thousands of US citizens, interpreters, and 40+ military dogs.
*Gave the names and addresses of US citizens to the taliban, a 'kill list' or a 'please take these hostages and hold them for ransom for billions of dollars' list.
*14 Marines killed in a suicide attack, some of whom were young enough to be babies when this war started 19 years ago.
*$85 billion in military equipment.

...and the generals and press secretary is calling all of that a 'complete success.'

So, choose one, buddy.

By the way, you obviously haven't received your talking points from the MSM, but in short in their view the entire operation has been a complete success.
Uh, the media has been raking Biden over the coals for withdrawing from Afghanistan and his approval rating has tanked.

Uh, the media has been raking Biden over the coals for withdrawing from Afghanistan and his approval rating has tanked.

Really? Which media? I'm not seeing much besides the usual channels carrying water for a this Democrat Administration like they did during the Obama years.

Type something like "Afghanistan Withdrawal Mishandled" or "Afghanistan Withdrawal Failure". Wapo has "Withdrawal Exposes Republican Divide on Foreign Policy". CNBC has "America Ends its Longest War, Finishes Kabul Withdrawal".

CNN has their daily updated "Afghan News Page" with articles like "Some Republicans Spread a False Claim About the Taliban executing a Man from a Helicopter".

Type "Afghanistan Withdrawal CNN" then click on the "scathing" articles with titles like "US Completes Withdrawal from Afghanistan", and "Biden Keeps August 31 Deadline to Withdraw from Afghanistan".

Maybe you're referring to something like CNN's "Most Americans Favor Afghanistan Withdrawal but Say It Was Poorly Handled" which cites CBS and NBC polls? Wow. How scathing.....
