i mean, has any dlc ever really come close to even sniffing OH, as it sits upon its throne, ruling over all of dlc kingdom

English-language update (hint: status quo, wait and see) on DLC from lead producer; name-drops all-time great Bloodborne:

Speaking to Japanese publication Game Watch, the From Software producer said development was progressing well, but suggested that fans shouldn’t expect a release in the near future.

“It’ll be a little while yet, but progress is going well,” he said in comments translated by PCGamesN. “Like Bloodborne, it has new battles and new characters.

From Software’s parent company, Kadokawa, also claimed this month that development of the DLC was “proceeding smoothly”.

Shadow of the Erdtree was announced in February, although further details about the expansion weren’t confirmed.

I'm in no rush, as we know they're going to go for broke here. ER made so much money for them, they're going to want to make this special.

I have a feeling they are going to drop at least a trailer/release date at the game awards though. I remember them discussing how they were going to expand the world through various media. I'd love an anime like Edgerunners for ER.

I played through ER twice nearly back to back and haven't touched it since. The longer the DLC takes, the more I forget. I wish I could erase my memory of the game completely and start over.

It's so good, Lady Maria is prob my fav Souls boss fight ever, incredible lore too.

Yeah I'm the same. Haven't played since launch and have been waiting for the DLC to do another run but it sounds like it's at least a year away. It must be huge.

Have stuck 50 hours in so far in the last couple of weeks story wise have just beaten Rahdan and had a wander around the Eternal City, but mostly just been exploring instead

Can't believe no DLC trailer last night :(

Elden Ring's Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC Could Release Sooner Than Expected, Leak Suggests

A new expansion is rumored to be coming in 2025 too.

"The release date for Elden Ring's first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, may have possibly been leaked through a gaming retailer's page. The page has since been taken down, but not before screenshots were taken of it.

A gaming retailer in the Philippines called Datablitz had a page for a third-party Elden Ring-themed controller and it mentioned it was a collaboration between Bandai Namco and Thrustmaster. However, what's interesting is that the page seemingly said the controller is available in February 2024 in order to "sync with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion release."

There may be additional collaborations in the future as well, including Malenia and Ranni-themed controllers. There's a note that says the designs' releases are to be "synchronized with 2025 Elden Ring major keybeat or new game expansion." This suggests that Shadow of the Erdtree won't be the only expansion Elden Ring could be getting."
