Elden Ring will be a learning experience... Hope it sticks & I can revert back to Demon's Souls when I need something to do.

It'll probably take me longer as I'm not into rushing through games the first play through.

It'll probably take me longer as I'm not into rushing through games the first play through anyway.
Ditto. I like to explore every inch of the world in their games and take my time to soak it all in. I'm sure most of my hours are from dying though lol

Did you finish Demon's Souls?

I had the game but packaged it with a PS5 that I resold.

With all of the games set to launch this year, it should be cheap when I get back to it.

Nice! Don't be intimidated by them, just take your time and learn patterns. If you start getting frustrated and sloppy, take a break. I should take my own advice more.

I hear Elden is more noob friendly, with lots of challenge still. I can't wait!!

LG C1 should be in Wednesday. Luckily wife wanted a TV where I play games so we can eat dinner at the kitchen table and watch tv.

Sekiro
Dark Souls III
Dark Souls
Bloodborne
Demon's Souls (Remake)
Dark Souls II
Demon's Souls (Original)
Good list imo

Bloodborne may have great art direction but I disagree with you big time on the bosses. Outside of the DLC and the last boss of Bloodborne the bosses are pretty forgettable compared to what they've done since then. I mean I can name plenty of bosses that were amazing from Sekiro and Dark Souls III.
Awful take.....

Bloodborne bosses are damn amazing. Some of the bosses are actual secret bosses....stumbling into that Eldritch hall with Ebrietas, Logarius in Cainhurst......I can keep goin on and on.
1. DS3
2. Sekiro
3. DS2 (DLCs are some of the best content ever)
4. DS1
5. Demon Souls
6. Blood Bourne

Decent list. Bloodborne sucks.

But Sekiro has a story, Dark Souls is basically just a bunch of lore that you figure out on your own if you choose to do so. There's no real narrative there pushing the story forward. Everyone plays it for the gameplay.

What do you also mean by the setting? The game has several different locales.

Senpou Temple and Fountainhead Palace are among the best locations in the entire series imo. It has less areas overall than your typical Souls game but there's way more to explore in each o ne because you can climb vertically.

Yikes.

Yeah, a lot of people share your view. Don't get me wrong, its still a great game as all of them are but I put it lower on my list than most people do. If I had to rank them it would be something like this.

Sekiro
Dark Souls III
Dark Souls
Bloodborne
Demon's Souls (Remake)
Dark Souls II
Demon's Souls (Original)
.

Similar to my list. Except I have Bloodborne at #3. I haven't played Demon Souls or DS2 though. DS2 I'll never play at this point and Demon Souls (remake) I will eventually.

In DS I play a Royal and I use the Cresent Falchion. Is the Prisoner similar to that?

In Sekiro you had Isshin, Father Owl, Guardian Ape, Lady Butterfly, and Genichiro.
In Dark Souls 3 you had Soul of Cinder, Gael, Lothric, Nameless King, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Demon Princes, Sister Friede, and so many others.

Bloodborne has some really cool bosses with Shadows, Logarius, and some of the ones in the chalice dungeons, but it also has some very poorly designed bosses like Rom (up there with stuff from the 90s for worst boss design ever), Paarl (just stands there and does nothing if you stand under him and chop his legs), and Emissary (what is the point of this boss? He does absolutely nothing).

Every boss in Sekiro is well designed regardless of whether it's supposed to be easy or hard. The only bad bosses in Sekiro, well mini-bosses, are the 2 bulls.

I havent played any of the Demon Souls games, but I got this pre ordered for PC. How steep is the learning curve gonna be for me?

Cant wait to die endless amount of times

I just like what From Software has done with the bosses since then. I feel like the games now offer multiple phases with each boss and the attack patterns change so dramatically its almost like fighting a new boss. Bloodborne had too many bosses that felt the same throughout the entire fight. Like I said, the DLC changed that and I think that's where the gave shines. Base game I can only remember like two standout bosses.

You didn't like those levels? They are regarded as some of the best level design even from people who didn't care for the game as much. They are gorgeous and its fun to explore every little corner.

I mean just look at this level, its so beautiful.

The only place that took my breath away was fountainhead....unlike in Bloodborne where every area was drippin in atmosphere. No DLC ever comes close to the old Hunters and that bitch was basically reused assets.

BUT thats not the point....you said theres no real narrative to Bloodborne or DS....Someone skipped out on the lore lmaoo. Sekiro doesnt even come close in terms of lore.

Bloodborne
Sekiro
DS1
DS3
DeS
DS2
My list is closer to yours than everyone elses lol. You always had good taste anyways.

Its gonna be hard as fuck but dont give up. Your first souls game is probably gonna be your favourite since its a high you'll chase. Dont give up and learn the bosses. Its more like a 3D puzzle game.
