Multiplat Official DOOM ETERNAL Discussion

I can’t remember the last time I saw this much misery in a thread. It’s pretty awesome.
And we haven't even started the DLCs yet.

I'm actually thinking of doing another playthrough of the main game on UV first because I'm still not playing properly yet. I'm pretty good with resource management now but still don't use the meathook properly and I should probably commit that to muscle memory before the first DLC.

Yeah I normally lose most of my armor and health doing the harder tricks and then have to scramble at the beginning of the next fight.

What does your corruption meter say? It's the old combat rating in the top right corner or the screen. You will have no little red squares left once you finish all the floors and get to the boss, whose yellow bar takes up half the meter.
Yeah only half a square of red left, this room. You walk up a ramp and all hell breaks loose.

Yeah fuck this game. Just ran and gunned for like 10 minutes only for buffed assholes to spawn and kill me. Couldn't find a buff totem either. Artificial difficulty at its finest. "Just pile on everything and limit resources." Time to set it down for another 2 years.

Eternal is literally built around not having to run out of resources.

Lol oh yeah that part. The buff totem is in one of the side rooms IIRC.

I tried yoloing some glory kills but the fuckers either died or I died in the trade. Some asshole with a shield wasted a bunch of my time and ammo because I forgot what the gimmick was to deal with him and ended up just sticking a grenade in his head with the shottie mod.

Is that at least towards the end of the segment? I made progress for sure. Turns out I was starting the fight at half health and no ammo and needed to dig around the lower floor for pick ups before going up there.

Ok saved my BFG rounds for that last part of the room and beat it. Icon of Sin was easier than that room.
Nice. I beat him too once I started ignoring all the adds and just kept moving. All the bosses were solid and fun to fight.

Yeah dude I literally just ran circles around the arena and shot the boss during openings. Chainsawed for ammo, blood punched and swords for health.

Incredible game, one of all time favourites. Now it's time to learn how to play properly.

Exact same. Bouncing around is a lot easier than trying to fight everything.

Pretty sure whatever AoE the icon used on the ground wiped all the adds after a while anyhow, even if they did respawn

Lol all because you refuse to learn to parry.

How long did your fight take? Mine took forever, like 15-20 minutes.
Yeah dude 15 mins or so and I almost flubbed it a few times losing focus and letting my health get low.
