Absolutely, Doom 1 & 2 are over 25 years old but they’re a ton of fun and still hold up.
 
3 has its place as well.
 
I enjoyed 3 more as a survival horror game than a Doom game necessarily. I liked it for what it was
 
Alright boys, ive built 2 pcs since the 386/486 days. Back then, in the Sound Blaster days, it was easier for me to build, but now, oddly, not so much.

For this game, which is god (weird, cuz dizzy is a fool with money), but i grew up with Doom games. Theyre the real reason im into pcs, so i wanna have the best pc for it.

Anything on sale?

The CPU market is super competitive now cuz AMD and Intel are going at it, with AMD having the upper hand at the moment, so you'll easily find a good CPU motherboard combo deal.

Regarding GPUs, it might be a good idea to wait to see what Nvidia has planned: there's a good chance their new line of 7nm GPUs are right around the corner and they are supposedly going to be less expensive than the current crop.

Only the connector types have changed. IDE is now SATA, AGP is now PCIe x16 and PCI is now PCIe x4. All peripherals now use USB ports. Display adapter went from Analog to DVI, which now you choose between Displayport or HDMI. The power connectors from your PSU have also changed; though these are easily distinguishable.

My only advice monitor wise is to purchase a 144hz model.
 
Just pre-ordered on Steam, and it mentioned that I need a Bethesda.net account. Is this some DRM trash? Does it need a separate launcher?

Weird. I didn't have that issue with Doom 2016 but I've had a Bethesda launcher for Quake Champions before it (QC) came out on Steam. You should be able to play Eternal on Steam just fine either way, but that's odd. Even if you have to make a Bethesda account you shouldn't have to use it. At least, that's been my experience since QC became available on Steamer.

Any word if the game will be available for download ahead of the launch? I would like to be able to jump right into it as soon as possible.
