What char class are you (or planning on) maining?

I tried out some world tier 4 tonight when I got home from work... holy crap it's hard work.

I maybe under leveled and under geared but crap... am kind of struggling at mid to high 60's. I think in some ways it's actually easier, as in doing quests, as they throw so many trash mobs at you that collecting items for quests and helltides is quick and easy.

Holy crap do the elites scale in difficulty and number from WT3... then again, I'm probably just under geared and too low level for this. The first thing that I did was join a helltide and ran into huge numbers of enemies that were 10 levels above me  I didn't die at all and got a bunch of oranges (all of which sucked) but it was a hard slog.

OK just rambling now.

So I am finally firmly set in WT4. Almost level 70, and I'm able to complete dungeons without dying. There was a bit of a push there at level 65-68 where I was essentially looking for packs of enemies with no elites in WT4 Helltides. Right now, in addition to the Waxing Gibbous, I've got an item synergy--
1 Additional Companion
All damage increased for every companion
Wolves are now Werewolves
So I have Poison Creeper, Crows and Wolves. This has really bumped up my damage. The Waxing Gibbous makes it such that once Shred crits, everything starts dying pretty fast. I also have the second legendary rune on the Paragon board that does +45% damage to all poisoned enemies.

So I guess my build is a companion/poison/shred build. All that matters is that it's letting me level up in WT4 to hopefully get some better gear

Question for others playing this game... has anyone maxed out rep with all the areas on the map yet?

Also anyone tagged all the Lilith altars yet?

I've maxed out three areas with the last two close behind. I probably have about 30 Lilith altars to go... goddamn it's turned into a grind to get it all done... but nearly there.

Got distracted with this so haven't gotten around to even doing the capstone and moving to WT4 yet.
I got all the altars. It’s not time consuming but not too bad. I started playing a new character though so I haven’t bothered going back and grinding the last level of renown in each area. Maybe when this toon starts to get near 50 I’ll do it.

I’ve been hunting for the butcher on this toon. I probably done 7-8 dungeons now and now luck. That sob won’t come back after the one time I saw him

Got to say the game is starting to overstay its welcome. Lvl 49. Act 3. Basically stopped exploring to do the story. We had that amazing cutscene to open the game and now it has been an all in engine mehfest. The dungeons are all very samey - forks that all lead to the same spot- and the story isn't that compelling. It was, but now it isn't. <sadface>
You’re not wrong but keep with it. Towards the end of the game there are a lot of great cutscenes

Where do you get these? I'm getting nosebleeds at level 66 in T4. I haven't gotten a single Unique Ancestral, and certainly neither of those, Staff/Helm

Run nightmares continuously... Take breaks and run Helltide (highest priority - target all 4 mystery chests). If you want you can cheese it by running Helltide on WT3, and then switch to WT4 to collect the chests. I heard that was do-able if you are a fresh WT4 player and need to level up badly. Hit up World Bosses whenever available. That's what i've been doing on the regular.

Also i heard a rumor that the game purposefully will not drop that final unique ancestral to finish your build. If you are a pulverizer werebear druid for example (which I was) it'll drop most of what you need but not the final unique piece (the chest for me). I kept on getting werewolf stuff and eventually managed to get a full werewolf build. As soon as I fully swapped to werewolf, the first event i ran I got a unique. Guess what? It was the final unique i needed for my werebear build. Fuck You Diablo!... lol

Finally ditched my minions at level 94. All the sacrifice bonuses and aspects have tripled my damage output.

All the bear stuff that I'm getting, I'm saving. If that rumor is true, what an awful element to include. Not as bad as the auction house, but still

yup. That's why if you are stuck on your build but have an alternative build that's fully read, just switch to it and you might score what you really want.

is that a Druid only rumor/issue? Raiment of the Infinite (Chest) and Esu's Heirloom (Boots) are my builds BIS Uniques, I've had like 5 of each drop.

Last night I got the Mad Wolf's Glee, Unique Ancestral. It is the third iteration I've received. I also have the Waxing Gibbous but I have not gotten the storm staff or helm, which are crucial for the Storm Wolf build. I think the game knows I want it

Not sure. I think it's for all classes. That's why i said it's a rumor. I've had a few people get their full build pretty early and others were still chasing their final piece. At the very least if you need a final piece then the RNG becomes terrible maybe? I am at Lvl 91 (or 92?) and found all the uniques i need for the 3 builds I was chasing after. But the final one dropped after i swapped out of that build. My take is that it's legit based on personal experience. But who knows. Wouldn't surprise me one bit though.

The only unique I REALLY want now is the Harlequin. That's a godly unique if Ive ever seen one..

I was a pulverizer bear and scored the staff and the helmet (the 2 critical uniques) you are looking very early on. And I kept on getting copies so i would scrap the shittier one (needed the room). It knows dude. lol

My first two Uniques (other than the Mother's Embrace after beating Lilith) were Staff of Lam Esen and Staff of Endless Rage, both useless for me. Just keep spamming those Helltides and Nightmare dungeons and you'll get em soon enough

@SaiWa @Striderxdj Thank you both for the input. I'm just glad that I'm finally able to start surviving at WT4. Agreed on the Helltides- some good stuff to be found. I'll keep plodding

Yeah I'm thinking of doing the same, I'm down to melee skeletons but they are just not survivable at high 60's in WT4 as they get melted and die almost immediately anyway.

Does it get any better as you level and gear up in WT4 or do they just immediately die anyway?

Honestly, I never had issues with minion survivability even at level 94 in WT4 clearing 40-50 NM dungeons. I had the skill that prevents them from losing whatever percentage of life in one hit fully maxed and then I had 2 pieces of gear giving I think around an extra 50-60% minion life and they rarely died. That being said I completely abandoned corpse explosion and would only use the skeletal
priest in between bone spears so I was constantly buffing my minions. The only reason I abandoned them was because I was just using them as a distraction and it was eating up skill points and sacrifice bonuses. The resource generation from the mages was good but I haven’t had any resource issues since switching.

Are the shrine benefits only for characters you've already created or are they for ANY character you create on that world tier?
