so aside from 10% durability hit that can easilly be repaired with gold, there's no real penalty in the game for dying. much like diablo 3. not so much diablo 2. in d2r it always gives my heart a jolt every time i come close to death with a character in the high 90's. its a fair bit of grinding just to get all that xp back, even when i retrieve my corpse.

though in higher level nightmare dungeons you can only die 4 times before it kicks you out. i guess thats a bit harsher than in path of exile where you only get 6 portals.

I had wanted to do a play through of D3 before doing D4. I played the fucked out of D2R in 2021 but haven’t played D3 since Reaper of Souls came out in 2014. Oh well.
