Would this appeal to a slightly above casual who's new to the series?

Definitely. Seems like they've struck a good balance so that the game is easy to get into at entry level for casuals, but complex enough in the late game so that experienced players wont get bored.

a whirlwind barb looks absolutely filthy for later endgame. they better not nerf it!

i think i might go with the ww barb first like i did in D3 and for like a year or two thats all i played. spin-to-win baby!

On that note, am I the only one finding it annoying that youtube is already being flooded with endgame max level builds, rankings and gameplay when the game isn't even out yet? I get it, people will always try and break the game early, but still. Back in D2, yes, you could find build guides and there was a meta, but you had to search that stuff out or talk to someone. Or better yet, actually play and figure stuff out. Now you don't get a moment to breathe if you're plugged into any gaming content online and have to be bombarded with FOMO nonstop. It's stressful.

it doesnt bother me any. it will if they nerf it because this shit looks absolutely disgusting and its inspired me to go for this one first off

and the way the build works, the mechanics of the gohr's gloves work filthy with whirlwind.. its basically like you're edging a chick and then you suddenly blow your whole load. for the most part you can pretty much whirlwind all the way to the boss and then let go of whirlwind and one shot the boss lmao. well maybe not in a lvl 100 nightmare dungeon but you get the gist of it. people in PVP will never know what hit them lol

this dudes already hitting in the billions. yeah they better not nerf this shit. they better just up the other classes just to make them on this level.

They released a review copy of the game to a bunch of sites and streamers ahead of time to help market the release. The review servers were only open for a set number of days and are shut down now. Any recent in game footage from the last few days is from that review build being pushed by streamers. If it's older, any endgame footage would be from closed beta.

It's all part of the marketing machine.

Yeah will nerf it, pretty sure.

I don't think that changes any of the substance of my critique. It'll continue through day one of release and we'll still be bombarded with it.

Oh I wasn't challenging your critique, just filling in the context. People didn't break into the game, they were handed a release version on a separate server to play for review writing.

If it's stressing you, their strategy is working.

I did not realize that you get a early start with the non plebian edition. Imma stick with the plebian edition tho, I'll be a filthy as f ultra thiccc druid.

Pinning shortly for our Diablo crew and wishing you guys a good time.

What's the consensus on spoilers and type discussion you want: Doesn't matter (talk freely) – or best unrevealed (spoiler tags for any story/quest solutions/secrets chatter)?

I am all for using spoiler tags for stuff, no need to ruin it for someone when it is so easy to flag it.

Took off all next week so I'm off from Friday morning through all the following week. Getting excited with all the good reviews on yop of how fun it was.

Any sherdog clans/guilds forming?

I'm up for using spoiler tags for storyline and endgame. I'm trying to avoid spoilers of the story myself. Although I plan on binging the game with my time off I want to enjoy the game and storyline.

Anyone else listening to the Book of Lorath stuff the official Diablo Youtube page has been putting out? I like it when games do this type of stuff. Helps me get more invested in the story.

to be fair ive never played any diablo games for the storyline. i must have sunk thousands of hours into these games and i still dont even know what the storyline is lol.

i guess ive got like a week to plow through zelda before diablo 4 takes over my life. i'm still trying to finish up on asscreed valhalla and far cry 6. for fuck sakes. if starfield gets delayed until the start of next year i probably wouldnt be so disappointed right now because ive got so much other shit i want to finish but at the same time i dont really want to miss out on the new games ive been looking forward to.
