No Spoilers Official Black Myth: Wukong Discussion

Didn't get much time to play this weekend since family was in town but I was able to find a certain area in chapter 3 that @Dinkin_Flicka was talking about.
The place with the NPCs where you can upgrade armor and challenge the blacksmith

I want to finish the challenge so bad but man is it tough. Easily the hardest fight so far. I assume I can come back and do this at any point though right?

Ya that dude is wild. I tried him out in the middle of CH3 and got completely smoked. He never lets up. Going to be a tough battle. I might go with the Thrust stance for that one.

Made it to CH3 final boss. It’s annoying but really cool fight. I haven’t upgraded a single piece of armor yet.

I was able to finally beat the challenge at the end of Chapter 4, after I had enough mats to build the Golden Loong Staff. My damage output went way up with the new weapon and was able to burn him down.

Upgrading doesn't seem totally necessary for progress as it seems more to get lower tier armor in alignment with higher rarity pieces. So if you look at a pieces of legendary armor, you can only upgrade it once. But if you look to upgrade a piece of epic gear it just boosts it to legendary and puts the stats into alignment with other legendary pieces. Each set also seems to unlock a max tier set bonus.

Really what it does is allows you upgrade a set with a bonus you like into the endgame. So I've been upgrading the Galeguard Beast Armor for the perfect dodge bonus. It's at legendary now and at max tier looks to unlock a new skill that increases the dodge i-frames.

If you're holding onto mats to save on the best endgame armor, you're better off just upgrading a set with the skills you like.

Thanks. That makes more sense. Like you, I like the Galeguard armor and will probably just upgrade that. Some of the upgrades are a bit confusing since you get so many items. I ended up just leveling my main gourd to I think 9 uses. Wasn’t going to end up waiting for another one.

I was able to go into chapter 6 with the fully upgraded Galeguard armor. There are more than enough Celestial Ribbons with a bunch to spare. I did unlock an armor set from the chapter 5 secret dungeon that has higher AC at mythical status, but not sure I care for the set bonuses. The full set needs multiple runs since there isn't enough mats for the whole set, so that's reason enough to speed through NG+.

There have been some chaotic boss battles heading into chapter 6. The final chapter 5 boss and secret area boss were pretty tough, and the initial chapter 6 boss had me yelling at the TV.

@deadshot138 is in for a real treat.

I do think I'm getting close to the end and cleaning up some quest chains. I don't have the patience to explore every book and cranny these days so have been following a guide to prevent to much back tracking. Sounds like NG+ is a cake walk which is exactly what I want with how much swearing I've done with this game.

Black Myth: Wukong success explodes China’s AAA investment:

-Selling out #PS5 consoles
-Investors are ready for more console games and will support them
-AAA space expand massively
-Next triple-A game is likely very close, says Wukong investor
-Sold "much more" than 10 million
-Global strategy from the start
-New culture to explore

-More classic stories will be represented

Expansion already underway, reveal Game Science leaks. Will come in two parts and potentially double size of launch universe.

I finally took down Yellow Loong. I would say that it was probably close to 20 runs. On more than one occasion I had him within a sliver of life, got greedy and then got rekt. The dude is unrelenting. The majority of times I died he did his air attack and slammed into the ground 1-3 times. The second one always caught me. I ended up using this freeze spirit, the fire transformation and pluck of many to take him down. Thankful I had what felt like over 100+ elixirs since I rarely ever use them.

That would be crazy. The game is already pretty big, much larger than I originally anticipated.

A friend of mine said he’s buying Wukong next week and is really looking forward to it. He believes it’s a solid AAA title with a relatively short playtime of about 18 hours. He’s in for a pleasant surprise.

I've been in the heated internet argument for the last 2 days on a fight between Sun Wukong and Kratos..

I think Wukong wins easily and these other guys are saying "but.. but.. Kratos kills gods"

I did the scientific research and Wukong can make infinite clones of Kratos equal in power to the original Kratos

And the thing is, Wukong doesn't even need to use clones to slap Kratos into Bolivian. That's how overpowered Wukong is

My favorite is Doom Slayer and he would slap Kratos.. Wukong is so OP, he would slap Doom Slayer and Kratos at the same time. He wouldn't even need to slap them.. He could flick a hair at them, then just sit back and watch his clone solo their whole universe

The only one who could possibly beat Wukong is Popeye

And people don't understand how overpowered Popeye is

Well I am "finished" with chapter 3. Nothing too difficult in it but I need to go back and find the final meditation location and complete some sidequests if I can.

Jade Empire, Age of Empire already explored it, lets not exaggerate.

The CCP also can still mess this up.

Made it to the final secret boss and absolutely getting my shit pushed in. His combo timings have me skittish and getting punished.

Chapter 4? I made a grave mistake wondering around there. If you’re at who I think you’re at, stay with it. The rewards are plentiful.

It's the secret boss accessed in chapter 3. You have to beat the secret bosses in chapter 1, 2, 4, 5, and complete the treasure hunter quest in 3 to access him. He is part of the secret ending.

Going to give him a good run tomorrow. His combos and attack patterns aren't bad, but his combo timings are rough. Really punishes for early dodging.

Finished up the main story
made hard press at the secret boss. Got absolutely wrecked and swapped my build a couple times trying different tactics. Finally got him down after probably 50 attempts, easily the toughest battle in the game. Tried multiple builds and cheese strats, but what finally took him down was good old pattern recognition and grinding out a win. I leaned hard on immobilize most of the game and it was almost useless in this fight. Cloud Step was the only skill that I found useful.

Going to grind out a few mats and level off a few skills and head into NG+
