Far as I understand the Irish system is far less populistic when it comes to being president. You pretty much have to be liked by the big wigs that are already in power. And they hate Conor

To be eligible for election as President, you must be an Irish citizen who is 35 or older. You must be nominated either by:

• At least 20 members of the Oireachtas
• At least 4 local authorities
• Former or retiring Presidents can nominate themselves
• If only one candidate is nominated for the office of President, an election is not needed.

The problem is most people can see we've swung very far to the left.

What that means is, the elites have learned they can control people by making us hate one another.

The only people who say anything are the minor league elites who understand it but are also wanting to control us.

They make us hate eachother, pick a side, and swear one side (child casteration) or the other side (bad bad bad ) is wrong.

I wonder what it would do for public perception of Ireland with regard to tourism and export. Genuinely. I think that’s the real tell, if that metric could be transparently explored in contrast with their present position.

His politics are not of great diplomacy, but neither are figures like all of those figures who are the most polarizing and famous in politics presently. He gels well with the Trump angle. He’s lower class but bears quite a bit of similarity to Trump in character.
