One valid argument she stated, and one that I first heard from Michael Medved is that most illegal immigrants in this country entered it legally, and overstayed on their VISAs.
A wall wouldn't really prevent that.
besides that, I disagree with her on everything else.
She didn't even have a single valid argument against a wall.
Cliffs:
- No one should feel unsafe including illegal immigrants
- Ice is evil
- The illegal alien child that died is ICE's fault instead of the illegal alien parents that dragged the child thru the desert for days (no reason provided)
- Visa overstays
- Illegal immigrants are more american than people that want secure the border.
Did I miss any?
Yes, but does that mean you shouldn't care about people walking over the border? If 60% overstay their visas and 40% walk over, is it ok?Visa overstays account for nearly half of all illegal immigration, including from countries other than Mexico
That might be true but in relation to hispanics, the ones that walk over from mexico, their children commit more crime than white americans. So, in the long run, you have an increase in crime. That's not some crazy racist theory, crime rates in the US go like this, in decreasing order: Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, Asians.Immigrants commit less crime than native born citizens

I don't consider myself right wing or conservative in any way except maybe fiscal issues. That said, it seems like fresh faces the Dems are pushing really don't seem to care about what America was founded on or its principles. It seems like they want to change it into kind of socialist society and turn into a Sweden or Norway. Norway is a great country but it's not America.
America is unique in the world for what it stands for. I'm all for them trying to get money out of politics and being publicly funded but other than that, it feels like they want to change America into something it's not.
50000 tickets to dublin per Expedia is 1500x50000 is 75 million. So that’s not including anything beyond the flight. Not going to take long to hit that 5.7 billyTo be fair, rounding up visa overstays would be more cost effective than a border wall. Hell, there are 50,000 undocumented Irish people who overstayed their visas in the US. A couple of Boston bar raids along with checking some roofing companies could put a dent in that number.
30 seconds in if you don't want to see the lead in. Trigger warning:
and @LogicalInsanity
The claim is not that visa overstays account for the majority of all illegal immigrants. There are people who live here to cross the border illegally in the 1990s, they’ve accumulated for decades. The claim is that more people have been overstaying visas than crossing illegally since 2014, and that trend is expected to continue.
The majority that are already here crossed illegally, but that is from old trends not recent years. Recently they’ve been saying 65% or so are visa overstays.

The USA spend $598.5 billion a year on its military .... and they cant even defend their border ... fucking joke.
So you feel this way for what reason? A universal health care plan? Affordable medication? Affordable or "free" college education? Less income inequality?
I guess I never realised that treating your citizens like expendable shit was an American quality. Good thing we don't have better social programs like those then huh?
those overstaying their visa's are not problematic as border crossings. Not remotely close in magnitude of problem. One valid argument she stated, and one that I first heard from Michael Medved is that most illegal immigrants in this country entered it legally, and overstayed on their VISAs.

Because it's a clear cut and recent case of Democratic socialist stupidity going off the rails. Chavez and Maduro family members and associates got rich off of rhetoric that is not all that different from Occasional-Cortex.
As for the moral high ground, I'm not happy with the budget, but unlike the Venezuelan middle class we haven't been reduced to eating rats to survive.
VISA overstays aren't much of a risk to national security though...correct me if I'm wrong. People who come here through a VISA have had their biometrics documented, have had background checks, and generally don't have ties to terrorists / gangs / drug cartels. People who cross our border illegally have had none of that information collected and could be anybody.
