Slow down damnit. Great job on the the PRs again.

Frankly it looks like your clean is improving. It wouldn't take a lot of serious effort to get it right.

Thanks hymn. I may actually work on form in 2011. I'm mainly focusing on the Big 4 right now. I think I could put up some decent numbers with proper form.

*Was supposed to do 3 singles with 260 lbs, but I decided to save it for another day. I normally don't Bench before Push Press, but I had to make up for skipping lifting on Sunday. EA Sports MMA is draining my motivation.

Cut lifting very short today.

I've noticed a pain in my left calf area when I have to squat down really low to do something like get in a bottom drawer of a filing cabinet. If I were to have to get into a catcher's stance in baseball, it hurts really bad. I've noticed this for the past couple weeks, but it never affected my lifting.

I warmed up with Squats and got up to a single of 365 lbs and felt fine. I threw on 395 lbs for my top 3 singles. When I unracked, I noticed a weird feeling in my left leg, but I didn't think much of it. About halfway through my descent, my entire left leg went numb. I failed hard and then had pain when I was crawling out from under the bar.

I'm not going to think much of it right now. I did Squats on Tuesday and felt really strong with them. If it happens twice, I may take some time off of Squats and start a Bench Monkey quest.

War Bench Monkey version of Oblivian

Strong lifting, I think you should consider doing a meet sometime soon.

Thanks. I really don't have much of a desire to compete in a meet. If I would have competed at the last one around here, I would have been at the very bottom. There weren't many competitors, and they were all beasts. 1400-1600 totals.

EA Sports MMA--Worth $60?

I think so, but mainly because I don't really buy many video games. I basically play the UFC games, this, and college football games. The game is quite a bit different from the UFC game. Some like it a lot, other's don't. IMO, each have their advantages and their disadvantages.

Also what is the music in your 415 squat vid?

I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm at work and can't listen to it.

Also what is the music in your 415 squat vid?

That's NoBunny playing a song by The Okmoniks called "Not That Good". All of the live versions by NoBunny on youtube suck since the shows are really wild. Here's the original band playing it (song starts at 1 minute):

Rebounded after Thursday's mishap. Felt strong today.

Warmup
Jump Rope + Heavy Bag: 5-10 minutes

Bench Press
135 lbs x 5 (warmup)
185 lbs x 5
205 lbs x 5
240 lbs x 5 (+2.5 lbs PR)
*Failed 240 lbs x 5 a couple weeks ago, and the last rep felt strong today. No major struggle.

Deadlifts
225 lbs x 5 (DOH warmup)
315 lbs x 3 (DOH warmup)
365 lbs x 1 (DOH warmup)
430 lbs x 5 (+10 lbs PR?)
*Pretty sure the most of done for 5 straight reps is 420 lbs. I only got 4 reps on 425 lbs a couple weeks ago.

Push Press
135 lbs x 5 (warmup)
185 lbs x 5
205 lbs x 5
225 lbs x 3
*I think I'm going to start incorporating a top set of a triple every other week. 225 lbs x 3 felt pretty easy, so I'll jump in 5 lbs increments.

I've been a lurker in your log for a few months now. Your pushing strength is insane. Great work!

re: the squat i find that I am stronger with a narrowish stance as well. Great bad ass lifting as usual.

Took a few days up to heal up and get the fire back. BW is at 190 lbs now.

Warmup
Jump Rope + Heavy Bag: 5-10 minutes

Squats
185 lbs x 5 (warmup)
225 lbs x 5
275 lbs x 3
295 lbs x 2
315 lbs x 1
365 lbs x 1
420 lbs x 1 (+5 lbs PR)

Push Press/Overhead
135 lbs x 5 (warmup)
185 lbs x 3
205 lbs x 2
225 lbs x 1
245 lbs x 1
270 lbs x 1 (+5 lbs PR)

Holy shit, 270 pound push press? Nice job! Great squat too. Sometimes I guess you just need to take those few days eh?
