I only read the transcript, but desperately avoiding answering a question isn't a beatdown by any measure
Which question did he avoid? He answered all her questions and made her look like a moron. The second half is the best part. I highly encourage you to watch the whole thing.

Matt Schlapp lays the Schlappdown on menopausal CNN anchor. This one is like an 18-wheeler rolling over Bambi.

Camerota: Does it affect your support of Donald Trump?

Schlapp: The fact that Michael Cohen plead guilty to these charges? Not at all. Cohen is someone, like Paul Manafort, who had an elaborate scheme to not pay his taxes and committed a lot of financial crimes. In Cohen's case, because they had him over a barrel---because they had all these crimes that they could prosecute him for---they got him to sign a plea that was not negotiated. It was "take it or leave it". He signed it to save his own hide and to try to get a reduced sentence. It happens all the time in America.

Camerota: So just to be clear, Matt: you don't believe that President Trump directed him to make those payments to those two women and that it was to influence the presidential race?

Schlapp: All I can tell you is, Cohen taped all of or at least a lot of his conversation with the president, so if Cohen has some kind of proof that happened, we'll see it. I don't believe that proof exists. I think what happened is: Michael Cohen plead to charges that are actually not crimes according to the FEC, but that are an attempt to do anything to connect Cohen's wrongdoing to potential wrongdoing with Trump, andI think that's a travesty.

Camerota: Obviously, there are campaign finance laws and you're not allowed to make payments to mislead the American voter into voting for you. Number two, when you say there's no evidence, when you testify under oath, he did so in an open court. There are wire transfers, according to prosecutors, that show the money going from Michael Cohen and that money going to a porn actress and a Playboy model.

Schlapp: Right.

Camerota: There are the stories of the two women who say that they had affairs with Mr. Trump. You don't believe any of that?

Schlapp: What I'm answering your question on is, I don't believe that the transactions associated with these two people are FEC crimes. I believe that Michael Cohen plead guilty to actions that are called "crimes" in the plea deal that aren't actually crimes. Allison, can you name any other person in this country who has been convicted of trying to squelch a story in the National Enquirier? Name the names.

Camerota: What I think you're doing, is a lot of sort of fancy rhetorical footwork...

Schlapp: No, I'm answering your question.

Camerota: Well my question to you was, does it at all affect your support of Donald Trump to know all these things?

Schlapp: What, the fact that Donald Trump had an extravagant lifestyle?

Camerota: And may have had affairs with these two women he paid off in hush money.

Schlapp: I grew up outside of New York City for a number of years. I read all about Donald Trump. Nobody in my party and nobody of the folks that made up the Trump coalition were naive to the fact that the life that he had...

Camerota: So you were okay with those things.

Schlapp: No, I never said I was okay....

Camerota: Well, look! You support him, okay?

Schlapp: I support him strongly.

Camerota: So at some point, we have to connect the dots. You support him strongly. So at some point we have to...

Schlapp: Look, Allison, Allison, let me...I would like a minute here.

.....

It continues like this for four more minutes. This one is like Sullivan v. Araujo. Hard to watch the beatdown.

Posters in here can’t seem to understand that him pleading to this does not make the actual payments a crime. They just assume now any court will side with them

Trump did not collude with Russia.

If there was even a shred of that evidence it would have came out long before.

What I'm supposed to believe, the federal government has proof Trump colluded (and if so, he would be a liabilty without a doubt.)
and had left him in office 2 years.

To me.... that is unbelievable.

And I hope Manafort and Cohen spend time in the clink, tax evading scum buckets if you ask me.

The only thing that matters to most Republicans is the Russia collusion, not payments to a whore.

Do you have any idea how slow and ponderous our legal system is? The only quick trials are the ones where the defense lawyer is a public defender that took a plea deal.

The more money a defendant has, the more legal tricks and extension plays they can afford- see the OJ trial.

Now understand that Trump is both a very rich man, AND THE PRESIDENT, which makes him the most difficult person in the country to prosecute.

Also, much of his susceptibility to prosecution is tied into congress and the senate, so as long as the republicans have control, there is a lot of restriction on what can be presented as evidence and what can be prosecuted.

Well there you go.

Trump admits trying to get info on Hilary. His political opponent.

Although he says he didn't know about it, why would his son go behind his back and do this then? <{vega}>

I voted for Trump but I do have that question circling in my mind after reading the above tweet.

Alan D seems to agree with me. It’s just over your head.

If I plead guilty to manslaughter that does not mean every person charged with manslaughter after is guilty

Again. The Former head of the FEC has stated these payments did not violate campaign laws

And a prosecutor said they did, and a federal judge accepted the plea and will enter a guilty verdict.

So yes, it is a crime because it violated a law. Anything that violates a law is a crime. It's not that hard to understand.

So an extremely partisan poster in here said we all know Hillary would be impeached in this scenario. LOFL

That’s like blaming her for the Weiner scandal

Pretty sure courts don't take guilty pleas just for the fuck of it, so yeah, it's a crime you dildo.

I'm really confused now.

Didn't know Trump was a Law professor, too.

Maybe he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night?

Plea deals and ppl turning on Trump because of their own dirt still doesn’t move the needle in Trump but keep the circle jerk going

Pretty much.

And I am guilty of being part of that 'cause I'll still vote for him if he makes it to 2020.

But man...he's not helping his cause right now with these absurd tweets. He needs to stop and take a long tweet-break.

The strategy is to trickle the actual truth out to the public so that the story can shift slowly by comma instead of by exclamation point.

And a prosecutor said they did, and a federal judge accepted the plea and will enter a guilty verdict.

So yes, it is a crime because it violated a law. Anything that violates a law is a crime. It's not that hard to understand.

So you didn’t even actually read or at least comprehend my posts. I understand your confusion now

It's called "Having a one-track mind" in the case of Camerota.

I don't get why they invite anyone in support of Trump(or any Republican for that matter) on their show and expect to get them over to their side.... smh.

That's not an answer to whether he believes or not, that's a response to the question without answering it.
It's pretty clear to me he's saying he doesn't know but he's skeptical and the truth will come out soon anyway. Maybe that's clearer if one watches the video.

But the payment wasn't related to the campaign, according to his team.

And even if? so fuking what? We talk here about sex with a whore which happened 10 years ago :/

QUESTION: WHERE IS TRUMP RUSSIAN COLLUSION????

Remember? It started with Russia collusion? They couldn't find anything...
Then obstruction... They couldn't find anything...
Now we are here talking about a whore.

Prime example of lets not investigate the specific crime, lets investigate the case "we have to find something"

And Cohens part? He would say anything at this point just to improve his situation.

Desperation is a stinky cologne.

Her hamster wheel is spinning out of control. He shuts her down effortlessly in the 2nd half. Schlapp is a beast.

So let's for fun assume his hands are clean, which as you noted his tweets are starting to make that assumption dubious.

He's employed and surrounded himself with inept, corrupt, compromised, or out right criminal persons. In key positions of his campaign and administration. For being the "hire the best people candidate" you don't have an issue with the quality of people he's hiring?
