yup I remember but people kept saying he had resigned and that just was not true.

Except he also brought up his injuries in his post-fight interviews. I'm not sure what he's talking about when he says Manny should have kept his mouth shut like he did, since he did not keep his mouth shut.

Could be. The only fighter I've seen fight through a serious injury and never even mention it was Sergio Martinez. Everyone else talks about their injuries because they are just too competitive to allow people to think they really got the better of them. I think the focus on Manny talking about his shoulder is silly, being that pretty much everyone (including Floyd multiple times) has blamed poor performances on an injury. This fight was just under a microscope so everything is blown out of proportion.

Manny's kind of his own worst enemy here. For the longest time his public persona was cultivated into something he wasn't. So when it turned out Manny is just a guy like everyone else, people were surprised.

Therein lays the problem with hero worship. Why would anybody believe that Manny is somehow immune to the same competitive urges that all athletes feel? The guy is only a few years removed from banging hoes and throwing down cash bets on animal fights. He's no saint.

Don't get me wrong, Manny genuinely seems like a really nice guy, and everyone that meets him confirms that. For the most part, he's done an admirable job of remaining kind-hearted and grounded since becoming a sudden superstar celebrity. But when it comes down to it he's still just a street kid who just happened to have an abnormal gift for beating people's asses. He is ultra-competitive. If he thought he was injured and would have done better, he probably felt compelled to make that known out of pride, just like most athletes. No shock there.
 
Has anyone been able to find any tape on the Mchunu/Makubu fight? It was a great fight by all accounts. All I've found is the KO gif.

The difference is that Pac was mentally defeated before he entered the ring. Pretty obvious they had this story about the shoulder ready to go. Pac barely tried.

Bradley on the other hand, fought his ass off, mentioned his injury and was crucified for it anyway. Bradley tried to win at least.
