Walters is almost 30 years old. I say let more of these guys actually fight each other while they are in their prime. I understand that building up fighters can be a good thing, but boxing tends to go so far overboard with "letting fights marinate" that too many fights don't even happen until it's not relevant anymore.

But it's not necessarily just hero worship though. Sort of, but it's also the way he was marketed, at least in North America. He was always the saint to Floyd's demon. Even if they weren't fighting each other, the conflict between them was almost always the subtext for either of their fights.
 
Donaire set to fight Anthony Settoul 2015-07-08. Don't know anything about Settoul

also just read that kirkland used to fight at JFlW in his Ammy days in 1999 (fought Donaire apparently). Wow, now that's a lot of growth.

Just read that Doniare pulled out of fight where the winner got to fight LSC. strange.

eh, Donaire needs some more build up fights, I don't think he should have to face top contenders for a little while.
 
Just watching a YT video of James Toney calling Briggs a punk and shit but in it James claims to have KO'd Wlad in sparring back in the day when he was 175lb. I never knew they work together. Toney said Roach was there. Did Wlad train with Roach?

I just looked it up and found this interview with Pepper Roach. He talks about the sparring @ 5:00. "He looked good. He didn't dominate them, but he looked good with both of them."
