Nog vs Sergei 18 years ago

It reminds me of how bad Kharitonov declined since his PRIDE days. He gave a good fight to Nog on the ground, wasn't afraid of Werdum. The 2010s Kharitonov tapped out the moment the fight hit the floor. And turned into a fat slow headhunting tank.

Sergei suffered a brutal shoulder injury in his first fight against Overeem. He had surgery and put on a lot of weight and came back and was still good but ultimately he was a shell of his former self. He couldn't train the same way and turned into a full on striker which was most likely because grappling was too hard on his body. At his best he was like Stipe with weaker wrestling but better submission grappling.

I'd be against it in terms of elitism but I think again theres something different going on, a lot of fans are willfully ignorant because it plays into the UFC hype culture they've bought into. Ironically its often not the new fans who are the worst, guys who've bought into it for years and have just double down and trippled down on it making the same troll arguably for years and years are the worst posters on Sherdog by far.

But then you just end up with people trolling back and forth talking about how certain it is xx fighter would beat xx fighter while simultaneously batting .500 on their UFC picks on Tapology every weekend.

Mir almost died in a mortorcycle accident.

Then killed Nog...twice.

Sergei was 29 when he got completely dominated and subbed in 2 min by Monson

I mean really I think that tends to be a sign of UFC hype as well and the false idea of knowledge it brings, people make a lot of bold claims based on their "knowledge" and then just take a result that follows that as a sign everything they said was correct whilst ignoring all the time they got things wrong.

I'm interested in seeing @Jewish Lightning 's Tapology picks for this weekend so he can show he's the oracle he says he is, I'm sure he'll have a 100% correct card with at least 75% of methods of victory correct.

Nobody can call every fight right. There are so many variables that play into the result of an MMA fight. Being a fan doesn't mean that you can predict outcomes.

Are you going to post a tap card for the weekend and at least show a high percentage?

Very good fight, one of the best at the time from a technical standpoint.

Now, if you think that double leg Nog take Sergei down with would even remotely succed vs the much biggeer Francis, or even Gané, you are fooling yourself.

If Nog could take down Mirko, he absolutely could take Francis or Gane down. Hell, even Francis wrestlefucked Gane. Prime Nog ate Mirkos kick without getting ktfo, his chin was granite. He would likely beat Gane and it'd be a toss-up vs Francis.

What am I scared of lol? There's no money on the line.

You're scared that if you don't score very well it might raise doubts about how accurate these 100% certain predictions of how fights between different fighters between various eras go.

Don't tell me you can be absolutely certain about how fights go between two fighters who's primes were 15 years apart if you can't even tell me what you think will happen on Saturday.

Why would you think that? Seriously.

Blaydes and Cain couldnt take him down nor could Stipe in the rematch.

Horrible. take

@Hellowhosthat nothing is certain brather. Looking at this card I'd like to say Hermanson is being disrespected by the odds makers. He's has better wins than Strickland does although Strickland is probably peaking while Hermansons best days are probably behind him.

Not sure who will win but Hermanson is being disrespected for sure.

Just for fun I'll take

-Hermanson
-Soriano
-Rakhmanov

And dear God how the hell is journey man Sam Alvey on a main card with 16 losses?

Smh UFC should live up to its "Bigger than soccer" claims and keep terrible fighters like this far away from main cards.

That's a good start but give me the whole card and the methods of victory.

Lol Cain got ktfo in no time. Stipe wrestlefucked Francis as well in their first fight. Stipe came in much lighter and much worse in the rematch and paid for it. I suggest you watch Nogs fights.

My coach was BTT

Nog wasnt close to the wrestler of rematch Stipe or peak Blaydes (lmao).

Wow

Brather if it wasn't for Rakhmanov I wouldn't even give a shit about the main card.

-Jack by leg lock (wishful thinking)
-Soriano by TKO
-Rakhmanov by TKO
