Jacare and Maia were not one dimensional at all...what?Bad examples. Neither Khamzat nor RDR are one dimensional grapplers the way those masters were.

RDR is a MMA grappler, not a competitive grappler which I assume is what the OP means.Isnt RDR a high level grappler? Bo Nickal an elite wrestler although he wont get near the title most likely.
Jacare would have been interesting but Maia would have just gotten his ass kicked standing.
Not at 170Khamzat would absolutely murder Demian Maia
Maia was closer to one dimensional though. His striking was only serviceable when he fought guys like Askren.Jacare and Maia were not one dimensional at all...what?
Yeah the guy who was scared to grapple Burns is gonna dominate Maia on the matEven on the ground
Do you honestly think he was scared to grapple Burns?Yeah the guy who was scared to grapple Burns is gonna dominate Maia on the mat
Do you honestly think he was scared to grapple Burns?
Yeah, but there is a world of difference between fighting smart and being scared.I think he was wary of Burns skills and wasn't ready to dive into grappling exchanges with him the same way he does with others.
When he had him hurt and was bombing on him Burns briefly locked down an arm and that was enough for Khamzat to completely nope out of it.
Makes sense really. His BJJ coach has had very competitive BJJ matches with Burns and I'm sure his coach has folded Chimaev up like a pretzel during pure BJJ sparring every once in a while.
Yeah, but there is a world of difference between fighting smart and being scared.
Additionally, the Burns fight was his first big step up in competition, and at WW. I feel like current MW champ Khamzat is a different animal.
This is an important point.Yeah, but there is a world of difference between fighting smart and being scared.
