NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

Ummm... OK. At least provide a sauce to give this thread some substance.

How many of those Switches have suffered from the dreaded "bend?" I'm also curious about the longevity of the Switch as it appears the dock has been causing some problems.

I'm just curiuos how well these things are going to hold up over time. It's easy to ship a ton of inventory when the QC is minimal.

I always take these hardware problems with a grain of salt. I remember people going crazy with the PS4 controllers and that has disappeared and I never had any issues. They also tried to bring up some HDMI issue which also disappeared. Not only that but years later someone revealed that the whole HDMI PS4 issue was made up for click bait.

That's cool, but I mean, there's visual evidence of the bending and scratching from the dock. I'm not really trying to bash Nintendo here but really just looking at the information available. We'll see what happens in the future and what kind of changes are made with the next few production runs.

I want to pick up Mario Kart 8, but I already own it for the Wii U and I'm not paying $60 to play a game I already own.

Yes visual evidence of the systems being broken. Is there evidence that it was done by the dock though? Personally I think the screen scratches are user error plain and simple. It just sounds like something some kid in a rush would do and then just blame the dock instead of themselves.

Good point... so far I can't find any response from Nintendo about any of these problems so who knows what's really going on.
Though I did find a user who said Nintendo would repair / replace it for them.

Means nothing unless they keep that pace.

First adopter rush is over, let's see if it has legs.

I think it'll sell a LOT this year.

Splatoon 2 will add a lot more buyers at the end of July, and Super Mario Odyssey will do the same at the end of the year.

If a new main Pokemon game is announced at E3 then all hell will break loose on sales.

I am double dipping....

I have quite a few friends now that have a Switch but never owned a Wii U and want to play MK8D.

I never played it on the WiiU and haven't played a Mario Kart since the N64 one, but it looks too good and too fun not to play with my friends while drunk

I still strongly doubt that it performs well in the long run.

There have been numerous posters in this forum who have said they are already selling it after beating Zelda because there's nothing else to play. Not sure how a console gimps along on 3-5 titles a year in 2017 when it doesn't even support any of the multiplatform megasellers. Rehashing one each of Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Pokemon each year seems a bit thin as a long term strategy. Nintendo desperately needs for a new IP like the 1-2 Switch to catch on with the bar crowd, college crowd, phone crowd, or some other market that they don't already own. I'm not sure if they can convince 60m housewives that their kids Wii is shamefully long in the tooth. Something tells me they'll just roll their eyes before getting back to the laundry pile.

Mario Kart was always fun but it fits perfectly on the Switch. I wish the L and R weren't quite so stiff in single joycon mode but it feels good man
