NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

If I buy a Switch, what good games can I actually play?

It looks like you've all gotten tired of Zelda and just spend all your time in here talking about games coming out later this year.

It only seems that way because there's a thread for that specifically while this one is specifically for Switch news and updates. I'll compile a games list later.

You're not the only one. Unfortunately Silicon Knights is no more, and the game sold less than 50,000 copies worldwide. The chances of Nintendo ever revisiting that one is slim.

Precursor Games (a studio staffed by many of the original Silicon Knights developers and headed by the old president of SK Denis Dyack) was planning on putting out a spiritual successor called Shadow of the Eternals. After three failed Kickstarter campaigns and the arrest of one the co-founders on child pornography charges, that evaporated into the aether also.

The other co-founder recently declared that the sequel is alive and hestill wants to do it.. if it's another kickstarter I may help out a bit. First time I'll ever help one of these lol

so I go to walmart this morning, to get some stuff from their garden section, I check out the games on my way over there and there just happened to be two Switches. I grabbed one with Zelda, forgetting about getting the stuff from the garden section, and went straight home and tore this thing open. Man, i felt like I kid, because I was so excited.

Congrats on stumbling across one. GameStop had me rustled as hell last week. My wife and I are rolling through the mall, and as I look inside GameStop I see 3 Switch boxes WITH price tags sitting on the shelf.

So I grab one but it's empty. So I ask the guy "wait, are these actually in stock or is this a joke?" and he goes on to tell me that the boxes are just for display (horseshit, imo, don't put price tags on products on shelves if they're only for display) and tries to upsell me on that $450 bundle (which wasn't actually in stock, either).

My jimmies are still a bit twisted.

Sent a friend request to doomrider and total immortal. Picked up fast Rex, sniper clips and I am Setswana on the eshop..

Will answer now. Been brushing up on my Payday 2 skills since I was rusting and would like to maybe setup a crew with you guys when it drops.

Edit: Fast RMX DESERVES to be in E-Sports.

Has dlc up the ass, but GODDAMN is it fun and addicting. Kind of similar to Splatoon in that it's not that hard to pick up and play, but getting GOOD is HARD. Total Immortal can tell you about the Splatoon teams that can just dominate and roll you out like a fucking carpet in less than a minute.

Had my Switch since launch and it's been a blast so far. I hadn't played Shovel Knight previous to this and wow that game is amazing and the expansions are actually even better I think, can't wait for the fourth expansion.

I am roughly 65 hours into Zelda and it's just an awesome game and basically puts no restrictions on you.

I have Fast RMX and Snake Pass as well but don't play those quite as often.

Wifi is shaky on this thing but I hope somehow they will patch that or come out with some sort of upgrade? I mean I should be able to sit in my kitchen ~15 feet from my router and still get a good signal.

I will throw my Switch code in my signature and I will add you guys too on account of not knowing anyone else who has one of these things!

Also I pre-ordered MK8D even though I already own MK8 for my Wii U...oh well!

Yeah I have an issue with the wifi being so slow but I think I need to adjust my router.. or get some sort of wifi booster...

I did some fuckery with my router settings and made it so that my NAT was open for the Switch but it still isn't that great...

I really hope they come out with a party system like on the Xbox when they launch the full online service. If they don't do that then I will lose a little respect for Nintendo.

Does everyone have screen protectors? I have tempered glass and it's pretty awesome. I basically didn't even use the touch screen until I got the protector lol. The fact that it was a plastic screen scared the hell out of me.

I also bought a portable charger with 20,100mA capacity and it's worked really well so far.

Dunno what to do, finished Breath of the Wild so until the DLC comes out I need a new "main" game to play on the Switch. I want to get Disgaia 5, but I'm not sure if I should wait until the end of May for the US release, or pay about $15-20 and import a Japanese physical copy. From what I read the Japanese version has all the different languages and the Switch is region free so content wouldn't be an issue.

It sounds like your ready to dive head first into Persona 5!!!

With the luck @electricsheep81 had, I went to a few Wal-Marts/Targets yesterday hoping I'd find a lonely Switch waiting. No such luck. I want Nintendo to have my money more than ever.
