NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

It sounds like your ready to dive head first into Persona 5!!!

Oh I am, although I can't take it with me on the go unfortunately. D5 seems like a good game to play while I have downtime at work or visiting relatives or something. When I'm at home P5 has all my attention now. Haven't seen a game as sexy as P5 in a while. Just so smooth, so sleek, so stylish everywhere.

maybe also try it with the sku number for the all black model

My man, thanks for the help but I finally got it! I was checking on iStockNow and found a Wal-Mart about 15 miles away that had 5 in stock. Showed up and they didn't have any out; but I asked the guy and apparently they keep them locked up in the back. So note to anyone else looking, make sure to ask an employee.

And with that, I'm going to disappear into Zelda for a few weeks. FU GameStop. FU scalpers. A winner is me (well, and Nintendo).

With the luck @electricsheep81 had, I went to a few Wal-Marts/Targets yesterday hoping I'd find a lonely Switch waiting. No such luck. I want Nintendo to have my money more than ever.

$500 but the bundle is quite well worth it.

To SameStop's credit here, the bundles they sell are actually really damned good.

They are, but unless they're going to provide a discount it doesn't seem advantageous to the consumer at all and brings a ton of advantages to the retailer. While I'm not going to blame anyone for making a buck, I will wag my dick at them if I get a better deal. Or even if I don't. It's just fun to wag.

I dunno. It's a pretty good deal. The previous Starter Bundle was much better though. Zelda with Season Pass, Snipperclips, Has Been Heroes, Shovel Knight, all for like $450. That's not bad.

The current bundle they're selling for $500 is:

Switch: $300
Zelda: $60
Zelda Season Pass: $20
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: $60
SanDisk 128GB Memory Card: $60

There's no discount, and they aren't offering a Switch a la carte. If you planned on buying all of that stuff anyway, I guess there's some convenience to getting a bundle. But otherwise, this benefits GameStop much more than it benefits the consumer.

As for the other bundle, I already own Shovel Knight on my 3DS. I don't considering buying a game I already own a good deal.

The benefit is you are getting a switch.

Bundle obviously benefits GameStop cause they get to sell extra items but they're not gouging you (besides that memory card). Simple supply vs demand. Right now the best way to get one is via the bundle unless you luck into a store that has them in stock..

Which I did, hence my FU to GameStop.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal, but it's not a good deal either - especially if you don't have interest in some of the bundle items. At best it's an even deal.

Pretty much this especially since the stuff being offered are things most people want anyways.

Fair point. I encouraged my friend to pick up the Starter Bundle that came with Zelda+Season Pass, Shovel Knight, SnipperClips, and Has Been Heroes, since he's never played any of those and was looking for a combination of great games and some more casual fare to play with his SO. This bundle while good, does less for him since there's no reason to get a Mem Card yet and while $60 is not bad for a 128GB, you can do better with a bit of searching in terms of price.

If I buy a Switch, what good games can I actually play?

It looks like you've all gotten tired of Zelda and just spend all your time in here talking about games coming out later this year.

"You've all?" I'm still playing 100+ hours in, son.

Had my Switch since launch and it's been a blast so far. I hadn't played Shovel Knight previous to this and wow that game is amazing and the expansions are actually even better I think, can't wait for the fourth expansion.

I am roughly 65 hours into Zelda and it's just an awesome game and basically puts no restrictions on you.

I have Fast RMX and Snake Pass as well but don't play those quite as often.

Wifi is shaky on this thing but I hope somehow they will patch that or come out with some sort of upgrade? I mean I should be able to sit in my kitchen ~15 feet from my router and still get a good signal.

I will throw my Switch code in my signature and I will add you guys too on account of not knowing anyone else who has one of these things!

Also I pre-ordered MK8D even though I already own MK8 for my Wii U...oh well!

Switch code? Please tell me they didn't use the friend code system from the Wii.

If you're still looking, the Swi4ch is supposed to have a mass restock in stores all over the country in conjunction with the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Best Buy will have it for sure. Go very, very early Friday morning. I got fucked over with the last stock of the NES Classic yesterday. I called the day before and the guy at the store told me it was first come first serve at opening but when I got there, they had already given out reserve tickets hours before for no fucking reason.
Try Target as well. They have a special promotion with Nintendo where a bunch of their stores are decked out for Mario Kart. They should be getting lots of stock.

I don't get how u got screwed. If they were out of reserve tickets Hours before u got there then u would have been too far in line to get one anyway

I got screwed because I called and asked if there was any way to reserve the day before and they said no, first come, first serve at opening. If they had said, we'll be giving out reserve tickets 4 hours before opening, I would've been there way earlier for them but they didn't tell me shit
