NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

Killing time outside of BB now...why I gotta wait until midnight bitch, GameStop does midnight releases at 11 lol

How many consoles are stores typically getting?

Got eem...

Updating now. It's a bit big. But the quality is aces above the Wii U. Vita, even.

niiiice. I have to wait until it gets delivered tomorrow, so probably in the afternoon.

Was out of the store in 12 minutes after midnight. 3rd in line, picked up my preorder, then bought a pro controller and all the Zelda amibbos (total of 4). Got lucky!!! I splurged like a spoiled kid on xmas...

According to the GameStop boss man each store gets an allotment of 27 preorders plus a few extras. But my store had 50 consoles!!! Apparently two stores nearby did not sell out their allotment so this store got all their extras cause they sell a lot of Nintendo stuff apparently.
------------

Took about half an hour to take everything out, setup and update. Started playing Zelda for a good 3 hours before calling it quits.. too tired. But if this game wasn't so awesome I would have crashed a long time ago. I am telling all of you. It's only the beginning but it feels like the best Zelda game I've ever played already. Link is nimble and moves like a cat!.. anyway.. bed calls..

ZzzzZzzZZzzzZzzz....

Ok, let's hear it fellas. For those that were lucky enough to pick it up last night at midnight, let's get some initial thoughts. :-)

Wow man.......Im getting the itch because of you. I was thinking of just picking up Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4 today, to hopefully hold me out on Zelda and the Switch until Summer.....but this game sounds too damn good to not pick up soon. Like really, really soon.

ok nerds is the Nintendo Switch legit or what? Is it fun playing(not that playing)in bed and eating cheetos?

Honestly, I don't appreciate this silly scavenger hunt. It's a total waste of my time.

Nintendo playing this foolish artificial scarcity game is rather insulting to people who actually want to give them money.

"We're going to create artificial scarcity so paying customers might have spend hours and hours going from store to store just for the possibility of giving us money, but more likely than not, leave disappointed and empty handed, just so we can do this silly marketing game"

Still waiting for Zelda to arrive, but I did play the Snipperclips demo this morning. Pretty fun, may pay the $20 for it. This will not be a Wii U at all as long as Nintendo can keep good games coming to it. The hardware itself is just so damn cool. The thing just switches beautifully from handheld to TV. It works as well as I'd expect, although after the Snipperclips demo (where you have to hold each joycon sideways), the system seemed to have a hard time going back to the default configuration after I quit. Left was still down, B was still A etc. Had to go into the settings and manually reset the orientation.

If this is true, I must have missed their Twitter post about how we shouldn't bother to try to purchase their new console for a few months, "real release date" may vary.

Did you not know that pre-ordering was vital in terms of getting one immediately?

My buddy lined up at Best Buy for 20 mins and scored a console with Zelda. Some of y'all needed to get off your lazy ass and get to a store. The reserves were sold out but there were extras out there and people didn't have to line up all night to get one.

At the BB I was at, I think there were 20 or so people who were there without a preorder and still walked out with a system.

No matter what, people are gonna bitch. If there are only enough for preorders, people accuse it of being "artificially limited" or whatever. If there are enough left over for people to walk in and buy one, then it's "Ha ha! They didn't sell out on preorders! There's no demand! #OMGFLOP"

Whatever.

I don't see anyone here bitching about not getting one though. The hell are you guys all hostile about? lol

Who's hostile? Just refuting the assumption that there's an artificial shortage.
