Nintendo Nintendo Megathread, v.6: Switch 2 Edition

Yeah, I want to play the Switch Zelda games at above 30fps, but I'm not gonna pay that much to do it... I'll wait a while, or just suffer through setting up the emulator.
You'll have to pay extra to upgrade as well, I think. So they're charging you a lot for the console and charging you to upgrade games that you already own

$629 base $699 Mariokart bundle to more specific yeah pricey for us Canucks.

That's PS5 price range. They should of at least made the screen OLED.
But hey, everyone wanted it to support 4k and they got it.

I'm going to get one as my Switch has been my primary console the last 2 years. Renting a place and waiting until i get my own place before i buy a TV. But the housing market in Nunavut isn't the greatest, been waiting 2 years.

The price of the console in CAD is kind of surprising...bery pricey...

I don't know why people are so surprised at the price of a handheld that can play Elden Ring, FFVII Remake, etc. A standard Switch is what, $300?

Mario kart world $80 usd digital $90 for physical?

Switch games are on the expensive side, but they are always "on sale." I wonder if after these so called sales will the prices be much different than current gen games on sale. If not, I wonder if they will be able to continue like the current gen where first party titles never see a drop in MSRP.

Wait…. Physical games are 10 bucks more? Then I’m probably not buying one. This is the only console I would buy physical for because handheld storage fucking sucks. I hope it’s 60 to 70 for most physical still because I’m honestly thinking of being a day one buyer. My wife thinks it looks cool and I liked what I saw from donkey Kong and Kirby

$10 cheaper digital makes sense, but yes should be $60 USD digital at most.

Press release info from From Software on The Duskbloods

Developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2; 'THE DUSKBLOODS' is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.

Play as the "Bloodsworn"; a group that has transcended human strength thanks to their special blood, and throw yourself into a violent fray for "First Blood" as the twilight of humanity approaches.

Release is currently set for 2026 and we hope you look forward to it.

God damn it, just make it like Bloodborne. Enough with this multiplayer focused shit.

Nightreign already had me like this

Not planning on buying this for now. I stopped gaming on the go so the need or desire to get switch 2 is greatly diminished. Might change my mind after launch but for now I’ll hold and observe.

Really hope Nintendo haven't opened the floodgates here with the games pricing.

That is an absolutely delusional price point. Yikes.

Sony not nearly as greedy and I don’t think it is an argument anymore. Sony gave us a nice 4 hour game that was free in Astro’s Playroom. Nintendo is making you pay for theirs. Sony offers substantial visual upgrades with new content for 10 bucks. We don’t know the pricing for the upgrades to games like Kirby Forgotten Land but probably at least 20. They charging 90 bucks for a kart racer……. even the massive multi hundred million dollar produced games Sony makes are 70. Perhaps the worst part is the console has a button on it that you can’t even use unless you pay for a subscription service. That seems awful to me. I’ve always made the argument that Nintendo is the most expensive console, I even said that after Sony revealed the Pro price. Yes you pay more for your Xbox and PlayStation hardware but Nintendo never discounts and now their software is the most expensive on the market. Despite all this if you want one just buy it because they ain’t ever discounting this stuff. No point in waiting. Either refuse to buy or just get it from day one.
