Nighttime Protein Shake

buy pro-nos multi-fractionated whey isolate complex. its only about 20 bucks and that stuff is amazing probally the best whey protein on the market. it increases nitric oxide levels by 950%, while it reduces belly fat by 4.30% and it increases amino acid delivery. With 42 grams of protein per serving plus it tastes okay as well, trust me buy this stuff and if you could use it with gammo, and gakic for quick gains and strength increase.

That's funny

Jesus. First off whey alone at night makes no sense, then you pimp marketing claims as if they are science. Troll

Didn't get a PM man, try again. But ya I am at the climbing gym in my signature. Hit me up and I will let you know my schedule etc.

Should there be a mix of Isolate and Casein in a night time shake or just Casein? Also should the shake be pure protein or should there be anything else added to it?

True protein has this mixture

True Protein | High Quality Nutrition and Protein Supplements

50% Whey Protein Isolate Ion-Exchange
40% Calcium Caseinate
10% Micellar Casein

It has 26.5g of protein per serving, is this enough for a night time shake? Since the casein is available for up to 7 hours(is this right?) I was thinking you might want a little more protein for the entire night?

Thanks for the help guys.

From what I'm hearing, both whey isolate and casein is your best option.

Nothing wrong with flooding the muscles with some quick acting whey, and maintaining the amino acid flow throughout the night with casein. I've been doing just this thing.

Either way works, but for me whey would not account for anymore than 30% of a night time shake.

Smoothie - 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese. 1 1/2 cups of mixed berries (blue, rasp, black), 1 cup chopped spinach, Filtered Water, 1 packet of Stevia

It's what I had Monday, Wed, Friday. Tues. and Thurs. were simply 1 cup of Fat Free cottage cheese and 1 cup yogurt.

why are you taking in that many carbs before bed?

why are you taking in that many carbs before bed?

Because noone has questioned me about it with an eye toward giving me hell about the foolishness of taking in that many carbs before bed till right now...:icon_chee

Not giving you hell, just asking, but that is a lot of carbs before bed man:)

I know you weren't Vedic. Seriously though, I simply haven't really considered the carb count of the added berries. I was simply thinking about the fact that I needed to add some to my diet and it seems like a good idea.

I do a similar smoothie before hitting the gym in the morning and was just carrying over. I'm still dialing in the diet. I appreciate you pointing it out though. I have Gourmet Nutrition from Berardi , so I also have access to his forum. I'v been doing some reading there and am getting a better education on what I need to be doing. This is the third time I have attempted getting my ass together. This time I'm actually better prepared, but its an ongoing learning process.

Is there any certain brand you use for your night time shake Vedic, or do you just mix the casien/whey from 2 seperate batchs yourself? Anything else that you add to it?

most berries have less carbs than other fruits. so if you're eating fruits berries are a solid choice, at least so i have been told.

And would you care to say how many carbs are in a cup and a half on average? It's high for pre bed

i'm not saying there aren't carbs and i'm not being scientific, but as far as carbs go there are fewer carbs and sugars in darker berries (blue, black etc) then something like a banana, mango or apples. i don't know for sure, its just what i have been told and read somewhere.

What do you mean by you're "not being scientific?"
