Television Night Stalker: The Hunt For a Serial Killer (Netflix)

I like true crime and all, but Richard Ramirez is where it gets to be a bit much for me to stomach. Honestly, just one of the most unreasonably evil people I've ever heard of.

On the positive side, at least he inspired a really good song.

I finished the series last night and thought it was well done.

I've known quite a bit about this guy over the years so nothing was too new to me in regards to his crimes. It's still interesting to hear people talk about how his pattern were so unorthodox for a serial killer. He didn't have a type like most dudes that just kill young women. Or gay men who just kill other men. Or men that just molest and or kill kids.

The dude molested kids, killed men and women (old and young) and raped women regardless of age. Completely indiscriminate.

Finished this last night - fucking brutal crimes.

Definitely someone who had evil (negativity) around him. I've meet people who give off those "evi" vibes here and there - granted, as far as I know, they're not up to the crimes Ramierez was up to but still you knew that that something was not right with them.

people still watch Netflix after them peddling kiddy shit?
75 million people voted for a guy who was buddies and hung out with epstein (even had a case against him and epstein involving a 13yr old girl) so . . . you know.

They could have had him when he went back to the dentist but decided to pull surveillance the day before he went back and fitted a push button alarm that didn't work.

kolchak rules.

Watched first episode it was pretty boring ... I usually like stuff like this but couldn’t get into it

I thought it was one of Netflix’s weaker docs, mostly because I came away from it no wiser about who the killer was. They spent most of the series concentrating on the victims and the cops which was fine, but there was little to nothing on his background, or his motivations. The highlight was his capture but otherwise it was mostly uninteresting

Nah, it's just nothing I've never heard or seen before. I don't know what I was expecting, but I guess it was a little redundant for me. It certainly didn't need to be four episodes long.

If you've really seen every interview with the cops and victims that was in there then you're probably not the target audience. Besides, there's more to it than what was presented. There's also the way it's presented. Sorry you were disappointed. From the responses here, those of us who hadn't dug into the case seemed to enjoy it.

I thought the story revolving around the hispanic detective was interesting--the fact that his wife and family left and would not return until he caught the guy was dramatic as hell.

I would have like them to focus on what created this monster more... it seemed obvious to me that his uncle exposing him at a young age to torture photos (basically muder-porn) of Vietnamese women created his sick perversion. This obsession was reflected in his victim selection, which was predominately Asian. I think there's a valuable social lesson there about just how dangerous early exposure to violent imagery in a sexual context is to a young person.

Not completely indiscriminate... his first few victims, and about half of his subsequent victims were Asian, which were a less than 10% of the population at the time... he definitely target them. His uncle exposing him to Murder-Porn from vietnam probably got in his head.

Binge watched it last night except for the final episode. Super interesting, he truly was horrific. I wonder if he was obsessed with the AC/DC song Night Prowler.

OMFG do not kill my beloved asian snatch!

There was one part of the documentary that made me chuckle.

after one of his sick killings he ate all the food in the house, made himself vomit all over the kitchen then he went into the living room and just randomly jerked off on the carpet.

lol fucking sick mother fucker

Binged it also, outside of all the grisly stuff he did, the other thing that got me was the desperation of the detectives and how one of them mentioned that he selfishly wanted him to commit another crime to have a chance to get more evidence.
It's one of the worst elements of dealing with crime or pandemics. There are not many other ways to collect usable data.

LOL you can see dude was reading his own headlines. Imagine getting bored of raping wounded senior citizens but wanting to uphold the rep that was created around you.

Works up an appetite lemme tell ya.
