Nick Diaz was out striking GSP 8 years ago-

Dumbest comment on sherdog today...

It's like saying Rich Franklin hasn't won a fight in 9 years...

He hasn't fought in over 6 years.

such dumb on this site... ooo hasn't in 10 years!!!

Just for reference he was on an 11 fight streak going into the Condit fight which frankly was a travesty because Condit ran away for 25 minutes.

Then he fought the GOAT WW to a decision.

Then he fought a consensus GOAT MW who was juiced to the gills on PEDs to a decision.

Trying using this thing called context bud.

You are correct--it hasn't been 10 years. THEY ARE LYING ABOUT NICK'S RECORD.

It's been 9 years, 7 months, and 19 days.

Diaz had nothing for GSP. GSP was seeing that turtling move 10 seconds in advance.

And GSP fought with the flu in that fight. Thats why he started to gas later in the fight.
Not sure if he was sick or not? But to me that more Post-ACL GSP.. When I saw him struggling at times for that TD, I knew he was past his best..

i know this is conventional wisdom but I kinda disagree with it

Nate during his lightweight run to the title shot was really good. and Nick while being great himself perhaps fought….ill say ok competition for most of his career

gomi is a good win but the weight disparity was a little absurd
paul daley was a good. win but. i guess if paul daley is a top 3 win of yours who did you fight?
You know he koed LAWLER??? Come on ip man...

Despite winning 50-45 I thought this was the first fight I notice George might of been losing a step. The stand up was actually competitive but the ground and take downs Nick had nothing. It was an ok but pretty forgettable fight really. Saying Nick was winning this, you’re either high or trolling though.

Yeah he had the flu. I remember him saying it in an interview and he was so mad about it cause he really wanted to kick Diaz ass but he ran out of gas because of the flu. And yeah i agree that GSP was never the same after those 2 acl surgeries.

The only fighter more overrated by sherdoggers than Nate diaz is nick diaz tbh

Nick Diaz is a fighting legend in regards to the i mma.

it’s so foreign that any mma fan who Has watched his fights would somehow not be a fan of his

Gsp won the fight off position. Nick was never in any trouble. And had gsp reeling. I’ve never seen Nick with no marks on him in any fight that I’ve ever see. Hi I’m win lose or nc

gsp won the match it wasn’t dominant. He took the fight out of the fight and gsp didnthst very well.

that’s a fight Nick took zero damage and gsp was wobbled and gassed and Nick stuffed the majority of his takedowns.

If you know grappling you understand how much effort GSP had to put in to keep diaz in place, especially around hiding his trailing leg to prevent Diaz kneebar roll game before it got going.

I'm tired of explaining people how much of grappling is not flash moves. Nick Diaz was one of the best turtles in MMA history

Apparently it's really easy when you have a spy.

"I think it would have to be a complete gameplan switch on what happened and training a little bit different and everything. There was some stuff, it's almost like "GSP" really knew the moves that Nick was going to do from bottom. It's interesting, you know? That's my idea watching the fight. It was really weird. Because Nick does stuff that's very unique and he hasn't even, he does it in grappling but he doesn't necessarily do it in fighting. And he was doing it more in fighting and it was kind of like, wait a minute, this guy is like one step ahead, he knows exactly...it was kind of odd. Almost like someone from our team, or something, not a current member, you know? I don't know, it was one of those things, but, that's whatever, I don't want to make out an issue at all. I don't know without all the facts."

Well, for the sake of context, Nick went 1-2-1 in his last 4 and when looking at his win streak his best win is a toss-up between a washed-up Penn or Paul Daley.

Nick lost a close decision to Condit because he didn't know how to adapt to a fighter not standing in front of him and getting into a brawl.

Nick is a very durable guy, and GSP was risk-averse so going to a decision against him isn't saying much. Anderson Silva also had 1 win in his last 9 bouts, being the guy that would have been his 1st win (and only decisive win) during that run is also nothing to applaud him over.

Going back to his win streak, he beat a bunch of undersized WW's, retired fighters, or mid-tier level WW's at best. Nick Diaz is the same guy that admitted to the athletic commission and strikeforce matchmakers that if Jay Hieron was his next opponent he would fail his piss test.

My favorite moment of Nick when Daley dropped like a dead weight, too bad he couldn’t finish him!

That Nick has chances against most of the recent WW division, current Nick does not.

15yrs ago Nick diaz got outstruck by LW Sherk who has T Rex arms

I was cheering for Nick but when he claimed that GSP had a spy in his camp because his repeated rolling kneebar attempts didn't work, that was pretty much the end of taking him remotely seriously.
