Nick Diaz was out striking GSP 8 years ago-

People are weird. Nick hasn't won a fight in TEN YEARS.

I started watching MMA after watching Diaz vs Penn. The action and Rogan commentating like this kind of fight was normal literally had me speechless & hooked, but it's crazy to think that the guy who made me a fan is 37 years-old today & has never won a fight since he made me fan. Because it feels like I've been watching for a lifetime...though the Condit loss was dubious in the extreme.

you thought he won the condit fight?

lets be honest here... in his comeback he could get ko'd faster than Askren and as long as he mean mugged when he woke up and gave the crowd the finger he'd be gifted "god status" by his idiot fans, who will insist he be given the next title shot
FTFY

What? lol.
If you know grappling you understand how much effort GSP had to put in to keep diaz in place, especially around hiding his trailing leg to prevent Diaz kneebar roll game before it got going.

I'm tired of explaining people how much of grappling is not flash moves. Nick Diaz was one of the best turtles in MMA history

From what I can recall, Nick had one nice flurry where he was touching GSP. He didn't like it and took him down easily and continued to kick his ass. If you wanna call that "out striking" him, yeah, well, that's just, like, uh, your opinion, man.

Edit: I should remember, because I was rooting for Diaz in that fight.

Dumbest comment on sherdog today...

It's like saying Rich Franklin hasn't won a fight in 9 years...

He hasn't fought in over 6 years.

such dumb on this site... ooo hasn't in 10 years!!!

Just for reference he was on an 11 fight streak going into the Condit fight which frankly was a travesty because Condit ran away for 25 minutes.

Then he fought the GOAT WW to a decision.

Then he fought a consensus GOAT MW who was juiced to the gills on PEDs to a decision.

Trying using this thing called context bud.

I just watched the fight again too

Not only did Nick win the standup, he won the ground game too. More takedowns, more control time, more ground and pound.

As long as we're revising history, might as well go all out.

Also, remember how he dominated Anderson Silva, almost a shutout? And the win got overturned because Silva popped for PEDs.

Two wins over GOATs stolen from Nick.

NEVER FORGET.

Diaz had nothing for GSP. GSP was seeing that turtling move 10 seconds in advance.

And GSP fought with the flu in that fight. Thats why he started to gas later in the fight.

I love nick as much as the next guy but he hasn't been in the game for half a decade, wasn't even peak when he left.

For how long? Short periods of time. End of the third I think it was he landed a few that had GSP checking the clock. Not enough unfortunately. I felt the striking was even with both having some moments.

Jake Shields also outstruck GSP for 2 rounds
Was that before or after the blatant eye gouge? As I recall a blinded GSP still went Blood Sport on his ass.

I just watched the GSP Nick Diaz fight.

He was doing well! He was beating up GSP on the feet but got controlled and dominated by the Wrestling as predicted.

He could have probably beaten guys like Dan Hardy, Carlos Condit in a rematch, maybe even Tyron Woodley since Woodley doesn’t wrestle.

Even today I like his chances against Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal.

Assuming he’s still after 8 years off.

Condit only beat him by running for the entire fight and using the GSP point fight style. If Condit had used his standard fighting style he would have probably lost, but we would have possibly saw one of the most fun striking battles in MMA.

GSP out-everything'ed Diaz in that fight, except whine before, during and afterwards.
