Isn't Bedard the lock for the Calder unless he gets Manning'ed?
He is the favorite but dont rule out others.
Poitras, Mintyukov, Cooley, Rossi, Hughes started aswell as Bedard did. Then you got Fantili, Carlsson and Dostal to look out for.

Sad to hear Backstrom is probably done for the season. Might be calling it a career pretty soon.

after getting dominated by the oilers for the first 10 minutes, the canucks come back and score 3 straight and are up 3-1 with 5 mins left in the 1st and the oilers are calling time out already lol

We're all behind you Skinner.
Sincerely, The Pucks.

So do the Oilers fire Holland or let him mortgage their future to try and fix his mess?

edmonton now throwing a toddler tantrum at the end of the 1st. theyre gonna take a nice parade to the penalty box. edmonton has become unglued.

the shots were 19-2 for the oilers 12 minutes in and it all fell apart. mcdavid and crysaitl oughtta be crying to the refs and diving up and down the ice in the next period i would have to figure.

mcdavid is rustled as fuck lmao

mcdavid and draisatl both get sent to the box and receive 2 and a 10. canucks score on powerplay and mcdavid and crysaitl can just sit in the box for 10 and cope

if they lose their next game to san jose the oilers are going to be a broken team.

i dont know how long its been since the last time edmonton fired their coaching staff, but i would have to figure that their days are numbered. a loss to the sharks and they may as well just pack it in

darnell nurse takes a seat after ripping someones helmet off and canucks put another one in. this is edmontons core players all falling apart. sucks to be an oilers fan right now

Twice he went after Canucks players and got manhandled, i get that he is angry/frustrated but stick to scoring goals. Ohh and send Woodcroft + Holland to Ipanema.

I'd laugh at the Oilers, but the Leafs may very well be in a similar situation down the road, since their goaltending is just as terrible. The only thing keeping them afloat is their scoring, but that's not gonna be there for the entire season. They're gonna eventually hit a slump or five, and those goalies are still gonna suck when that happens.

You gotta have good goaltending in this league.

I haven't seen good goaltending since 2006.

I'm trying to think of the last time the Leafs had good goaltending. Might have to go all the way back to Belfour, LOL. It's just been a gaggle of clowns since then. Anderssen was a good regular season goalie, I guess.

I don't even know if Potvin was good or not, but I was a fan as a kid lol

I'm pretty sure he was damn good for the two years they went to the Conference Finals, but then fizzled out hard, got traded or UFA'd, and then just quickly faded away. Everyone loved that guy, though, with "The Cat" moniker and his crazy low stance, where he was about as close to a butterfly position, without actually being in one. He was a pretty big star around here for a bit, that's for sure.

Oilers put Campbell on waivers. Who could have seen giving 5x5 to a career backup would backfire.

Was Belfour before or after Cujo? Those poor bastards had to play behind the McCabe Kaberle defenses.
