That said I don't think tc is correct. As the point of giving a fighter 2mil for a mma fight is to change the life of an mma fighter and start putting more value on mma fights instead of the penny's a ufc fighter has to fight for. He's looking to grow the value of mma fighters so having a boxer do it doesn't make a lot of sense for his overall mission. Unless it was just to entice a boxer with a decent mma pay day.

Reminds me of Badr Hari vs Overeem, supposedly it was going to be 1 Kickboxing and 1 MMA.
Overeem actually managed to win the Kickboxing fight and basically the MMA fight never happened and they just had a rematch in boxing.
I don't know if Francis could win the boxing fight tho.

Ray Mercer doesn't count because Timmy is just a jabber with a freakishly tall and knobby kneed body. Anyone they could find for that deal wouldn't pay Francis the boxing dream payday that he wants. I feel like there are boxers that might not have anything left to do but big enough names to risk taking an MMA+boxing combo. Ortiz comes to mind, he's really old and fairly well known.

If Ngannou gets him in an MMA cage it might be worth it just for the break through of having an active boxer back in the cage regardless if he gets his value tanked by losing the boxing match.
