Television New Mr. and Mrs. Smith Series

It was alright. I enjoyed it enough to watch it within 3 days or so. I'm a huge fan of Atlanta, so if you tell me it has Donald Glover and the director Hiro Murai, I'm gonna watch.

What it does well is humanize these characters, something the movie didn't really do. Similar to watching Daniel Craig get his butt whooped in Casino Royale and cry in the mirror about it, the show takes these spy characters and tries to deliver solid character archs. Does it always work? No, not every time. I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

It's not "woke" in my opinion. They explain that there are multiple Mr. and Mrs. Smiths in this company, so who knows, Brad and Angelina might be in the same universe. A cameo from one of them would've been awesome.

To me, it was a solid series that I enjoyed. I didn't love, but I did enjoy it.

sounds like a classic Prime series. "pretty good"

I’m more shocked that Glover actually has so many fans.
Not sure why unless there's some scandal I don't know about. He did Community, which has a fanbase similar to The Office. He's a successful rapper, Childish Gambino, that draws in different types of people, some who aren't even hiphop fans. He was partly responsible for the inspiration of Miles Morales. His show Atlanta is incredible and has a loyal following as well.

Frankly put, he is a rare talent that was able to find success in standup comedy, tv, movie and music.

Yeah, that's fair to say. It's nothing special, but it does enough to keep you engaged until the end.

there is a place for those types of shows. the "I mostly like it well enough but I also don't pause it if I am doing other stuff at the same time"

I think most folks are having issues that Mr and Mrs are not even married, is this true? Seems kind of clickbaity if true.

It has nothing to do with the movie so that wouldn't even make sense.

The movie is about two spies working for different competing agencies who dont know the other one is a spy and get married by coincidence, then have to kill each other when they find out.

This show is doing something entirely different, feels like they came up with the premise of the show first and then slapped the Mr and Mrs Smith label on. Had they given it a different title nobody would have even made the connection.

They're married for the mission/company and fall for each other in the process. Different than the movie in that regard where each character is an assassin for hire from competing companies and don't know. They know they work for the same company, they know they're "married" for the mission.

Almost every fucking Berry thread turns into a War Room Lite shit show. Pathetic. You can't even talk about the quality of the show itself or what's going on in an episode without it being derailed by bullshit. Cans.

There's a joke in there about gheyberry always wanting to get derailed, but it'd be offtopic so I'll relent.

This show is a bit hit or miss, there's some half decent awkward comedy at times but it seems like more of an awkward romance than any sort of spy thriller.

It's more Lost in Translation than Mr and Mrs Smith.

We should just make a TV/Movie thread in the War Room where everyone can whine about woke bullshit in it rather than derail every discussion thread with their complaints. It's tired.

Just ban anyone who uses that word.

Done.

It's hit and miss each episode I only have the last episode left. The best episodes are only good.
