Any word on when this is getting released? I have a digital download pre ordered, because I gave $25 to the kickstarter fund.
Anyone really expecting that playing as Jason is going to be as satisfying as it sounds?
I don't believe there is a firm date, but everything I've seen by them says "Coming 2016." So hopefully we get it before the new year. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to them taking extra time if they need it to polish the game out as much as possible.
My main complaint at this point is over the graphics and animations. The graphics aren't really looking too cutting edge. They look like something you'd find on the PS3. And a lot of the animations I've seen look a little choppy and robotic. Now, barring disastrous reviews, I'm pretty much guaranteed to pick this up. So I hope by the time release rolls around they'll have the graphics up to par and animations as smooth as possible.
Otherwise, the Jasons I'm looking most forward to playing as are Part 6 and Part 8. I just really like the looks of those two. I'm not really feeling the Part 7, 3, and 2 looks, though I'm sure I'll use them every once in a while to change things up. I just hope over time, after release, they'll keep adding things via DLC, whether that's new Jason skins, new maps, new characters/counselors, etc. Overall, I'm really excited for this game and I hope it does not disappoint.
If they can nail the environment and gameplay while keeping it fun, I can forgive the graphics. So is this online only or will it be offline also?
So far it's just a multiplayer game, but they said they haven't decided yet if they're gonna add a "survival horror" single player mode. I think it all depends on time and money. But I do recall them saying they had some solid ideas for single player, if they were to do it.
I just hope it's more than simply walking up to someone, pressing a button, and then watching Jason going into a predetermined animation. I hope it's more fluid than that, where they can still struggle and/or the more you attack them, the more violent their death gets. Like if you choose to stab them once, then that's it. But if you keep it up, hopefully Jason will rip them completely apart.
I know the original composer is returning to score the game, and I believe he scored most of the first 10 films, but I hope depending on the Jason skin or map you're playing, there's specific callbacks to those specific movies. IDK. I'm just remembering the unique "Jason Lives" theme as an example. It'd be cool if something like that played while we were using (or running from) Part 6 Jason (and same for the others) rather than just having a single score throughout.
Fucking gayHow are you going to make a Video game based off of a Movie and not have a campaign? That's why Star Wars Battlefront Sucks balls. I don't get into multiplayer gaming besides UFC or Fight Night (If they ever decide to make a new one)
I'm not one to usually bitch as I started playing video games with an Atari 2600 and realize how far games have come, but these $60 multiplayer games with no campaign are bullshit. Not everybody likes multiplayer gaming.![]()
Some games I only like the campaign (GTA) and some games I only like the multiplayer (CoD) but I agree. For this game, I was hoping for an Alien Isolation-type of single player survival horror mode. But we just gotta keep in mind that they're an independent company and don't have the budget or the manpower to make a massive AAA-title game. But from everything I've seen so far, it definitely looks like it's shaping up to be a decent game for what it is.
I also recall hearing that if they hit a certain budget point they would definitely include single player. They didn't hit all their budget goals, but they said they definitely would be including stuff down the road as DLC. Perhaps it's possible they could include a single player campaign as DLC? (even if it's smaller, like the Crew Expendable DLC for Alien Isolation)
My biggest worry at this point is that the game will become too redundant after a couple of days. I mean, CoD is pretty redundant but at least it's fun enough that it keeps you coming back. Hopefully this one is just like that.... where's it's fun enough and they've nailed the atmosphere so perfectly that you just wanna keep playing.
I heard they've recorded something insane like 400 different types of kill animations. I hope that's true!
I understand they're an Indie company, but I'm still pissed. Most people that grew up watching Friday the 13th movies as kids or teens in the 80's aren't online gamers. They're ostracizing their main demographic by making it a multiplayer only game.
I gave $25 the Kickstarter and will get a digital download in return. I'll give it a shot, but I'll probably only play this a few times as I can't get into games like this online.
I agree about bots, I'm also surprised no date yet has been set. I wonder how far along the game actually is.i will always contend that off line bots should be included, so the game doesn't lose complete usefulness once the multiplayer servers go down.
