Neither have I. My cousin told me that one of the good guys is more hardcore than Arnie in conan the barbarian as far as killing and ruthlessness. I told him that krom laughs at his false claims and never watched got.

Haven't watched a lick of Game of Thrones and just watched my first episode of Breaking Bad tonight. Meh so far.

Only recently tried BB

Starts off interesting but kinda slow and weird

Really builds in later seasons

The last 8 episodes are so fuckin good

I watched the very first episode and wasn't impressed. Haven't seen an episode since.

I don't get people who refuse to watch something just to be a contrarian though. At least give it a shot. Watch the first episode, remember how great everyone thought the first few seasons were, and figure out if it's something that could potentially be cool.

Not watching at all is kind of lame.
I've never seen a single episode. Not because I refuse to but mostly because I never got around to it and don't have HBO. I figure I may get around to it if I get ahold of someone's HBO subscription one day and would probably end up binging it all at once if I like it.

I didn't really care to watch it for the same reason, but then I moved into a place with an HBO suscription and all the seasons where on demand, I couldn't resist. To be honest I didn't care for the first few seasons, but it grows on you.

GOT is just like The Wire.

"Dude! YOU have to see the Wire. If you haven't seen it yet, you are a f*cking loser. Now go watch it."

Um, now I really don't want to watch it.
So, you haven't watched neither "the wire" nor GOT, have you?

I ain't watching anything that takes 100 fucking hours to watch. Beginning, narrative hook, story builds, climax, tie things up, etc AND THEN IT ENDS IN UNDER 100 FUCKING HOURS. It's called a story. I like stories. They often come in movie form, which is nice. Stupid endless TV shows

That's different. Obviously if circumstances don't work out to see it, it's a different story.

But you know the types I'm talking about; Always bragging about how they never watched a popular show or listened to a popular band.

I am about 7 episodes in of season 3. Been binge watching it. It really is a show you have to pay attention to and possibly rewind certain scenes to really understand whats happening.

Someone also should mention it really doesnt get moving until the middle of season 2. I was pretty much done with it up until then. The other thing is people need to realize this show isnt about fighting, its the buildup to the fight. There are so many leadups to fights and they just brush over them.

GoT is the only show I can think of, that got so big and got people so excited about it, it became a new cool thing for annoying hipsters to brag about never having seen an episode.

'Widely' is a very subjective term. Most people I've heard of that watched it when it was on TV, and a few years afterward on DVD, loved it. But also most people I've talked to that heard about how great it is and tried watching it over the last few years, didn't like it as much.

The Wire ran for 5 seasons in the early 2000s, right? I'm estimating it was GREAT for its time, but watching it now comparing it to modern TV shows.... its lost its luster.

I guess I can compare it to my favorite videogames of that era. They're still awesome in my perspective, but if I doubt a modern teenage gamer would appreciate PS2 or original X-Box games.

I can't think of any modern crime drama shows that make the Wire outdated. Got any examples?

I watched the first episode, last episode (and live reactions), and about an hour of complilations for important bits in between.

Still a waste of time.

Lmao yes, watching the worst parts of the show would definitely be a waste of time. What were you thinking?

"correctly" is a matter of opinion I spose and many would say that both the serial killer plot and McNulty's character shift wasn't very realistic.

The serial killer plot is way more realistic than Hamsterdam. Actually it's pretty relevant today when you consider the whole "fake news" meme.
