Dominated? I had it 48-47 for Islam, and a Volk scorecard isn't obscene given how close a few rounds were. Get outta here with that nonsense of "domination."

For anyone that knows how to judge an MMA fight a 48-47 scorecard for Volk is closer to obscene than fact based. You know better than most, this isn't horseshoes or hand grenades. Lets not give people credit - or a pass - where it's decidedly undeserved.

It seemed like your chief complaint is that you didnt like previous threads i made about volk losing to islam. Ghats not an indictment on volk, its a testament to how dominant of a fighter islam is.

You’re not wrong. People here have a soft spot for underdogs and Alex overachieved, but the result was clear: he got outsmarted, outgameplanned, and outstruck by Makhachev.


Dude got a taste of his own medicine on home soil and Mak doesn’t get enough credit. By the time Volk woke up Mak was already on cruise control and Volk was getting schlonged on the scorecards.

Even if you win a 4-1 spread, that doesn't automatically correlate with domination.

You can win two or three close rounds, or maybe even all of them.

My memory of that fight was two clear rounds to Islam, one clear round to Volk, and two contested rounds that I had split.

That's not domination in any sense.
