NCAA Wrestling

He's always had a very high motor. Not sure why that's even worth mentioning.
Because keeping that pace with that muscle mass at that age is suspect. Even if he’s clean.

My point has always been that while I sincerely hope not. There’s enough there that if the entire US team popped.. I’d be the least surprised about Taylor.. by a wide margin.

Hopefully he’s not. I say that as someone who’s from sw Ohio, and a tOSU fan, and have always followed his career with great interest. But I’ve seen and heard enough, on top of the traininglabs reputation and record in mma. That I see smoke. Hopefully there’s no fire

Did anyone see that Gable Stevenson signed with WWE? lmao
I am seriously baffled by this. Whether it's fame, money, or competition that he wants, I have to think the UFC or a second Olympic gold will be a better choice. Maybe Lesnar has convinced him he'll make big bucks but Gable has none of what made Brock a superstar.

Thomas Gilman now has World Gold

Great win for him, but I believe Uguev would/will beat him again. Not to make excuses, but Uguev had a tough first few matches at the olympics due to a flu

Congrats Jordan Burroughs!

Team race is now tied coming down to the last match. Snyder vs Sadulaev for everything.

And I couldn't feel less confident or hopeful.

Unfortunately hindsight pretty much confirms that in 2017 Sadulaev probably wasn't at his best. Between needing time to acclimate to competing 20 lbs heavier and getting married and being pressured by the RWF to compete after Rio, that may have been Snyders only shot. And good for him that he seized it. But Sadulaev has left him behind. And the crazy thing is Snyder is still an all time great 96-97 kilo wrestler.

It's gonna take a real gunslinger to beat Sadulaev next. Snyder's just to measured and risk-averse. Its gonna take a guy that can score big moves and go on runs outta nowhere. Kinda like a prime Mark Schultz.

What is happening, my friends?

There is only a single American wrestler that has made it to the semi-finals of FS at the U23 worlds. The Juniors were much better

It’s a 3 part answer.
For Greco, typical story, no one cares or is too busy with freestyle

For Mens. A lot of the team were 3rd/4th or lower on the NCAA ladder much less senior ladder. The junior team had more high level NCAA guys.

For womens.
No one really cared about u23s on the woman’s side. The best athletes did juniors or cadets and/or jumped up to seniors.

And, apathy. The general mood has been, “oh yeah that’s happening

Yeah, I have lost interest in GR apart from a select few who are entertaining

The women's team did pretty well, iirc; although, I haven't been able to watch a lot of WFS

Interesting, why didn't they send their 1-3 guys at freestyle? I value the U23 worlds more than the Juniors, and is generally a better telling point for who will be successful at the senior level. I understand that it isn't ideal with the college schedule and the end-of-term exams approaching.

It would be nice to have this event closer to the summer. Also, a pity that Japan and China aren't present.

Because they’re either focused on college, or trying to make senior teans

With Taylor, the way i see it is anything he might be using would be more or less the same things everyone else are to fly under the radar; it's the guys who can't stop themselves from wanting to go even further, and 'fly too close to the sun', so to speak, that end up getting wada'ed.
