"Mamba mentality" thread title is providence after the two Kobe records Harden tied tonight (most consecutive 30+ point games in the post-merger era with 16; the most 3-PT shots missed in a single game with 16).
Lmao what did he end up 1-17?

Thats just shocking man, he's cost them in a few games with trying to take over and throwing up shots.

It might work sometimes but it's not going to win you a title.

Hes top 10 of all time sure. But still overrated by some guys aka you
LOL, he's dominated this league for the past 15 years. The only players to dominate the league as the top baller for timespans like this:

Pre-Merger
  • Wilt/Russell (canceling each other's "dominance" out)
Hybrid Era
  • Kareem
Post-Merger
  • Magic/Bird (same issue as Wilt/Russell)
  • Jordan
  • Lebron

That's it. There's your holy trinity.

Kareem, Jordan, Lebron.

In order to make the NBA finals a team must be lead or co-led by a transcendent player that is "homegrown". In fact only one team in NBA history was able to make it to the finals without having a homegrown star leading the way. The Warriors have Steph/Klay/Draymond, the Cavs had Lebron/Kyrie, the Heat had Wade, the Spurs had Duncan/Robinson/Kawhi, the 00's Lakers had Kobe, The Mavs had Dirk, the 00's Celtics had Pierce, and so on and so forth all way down through the 50s. In order to be an NBA championship franchise you need to strike it big in the draft. You have to find a player that can set the tone for your franchise and establish it's culture.

That means that Lebron and AD will never win a title in LA unless Kuzma truly breaks out next season. The Celtics need Tatum to develop before they can win. Harden is not going to get over the hump in Houston. San Antonio needs find some more Parkers, Ginobilis. and Kawhi's deep in the draft. The Raptors might as well blow up the team because even with Kawhi they're not winning. The Wizards future title hopes rest on Wall and Beal whether they like it or not. The Mavs are in great position with Luka leading the way.

This year expect to see the Warriors vs 76ers in the Finals with the Bucks and OKC each having an outside chance. You heard it here first.

Can anybody guess who the one exception to this rule is?

That's what happens when 30+ ppg are out injured.

Tonight, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th leading scorers are out. So Hardgoat has 46 through 3 quarters.
