Curious, why did you stop fighting? Im 46 started competing at 41, 6 kickboxing fights 4-2 and i feel great. Was it the toll on your body after so many years, other priorities or the higher risk of brain injury.....or all of the above?
Well i got that cronic chronic disease AS way back in 2009. I dont feel anything from it. And thats not normal. You could say i won the lottory on that one. But IMO its not from luck, but from hard and smart training.
I got back into fighting shape in 2011. And i never looked back. I train every single day.
My last fight was in 2013. I won by knockout from lowkick.
Why did i stop? Good question. We had our first child at the end of 2014, followed by the 2nd in 2017.
The same year my boy was born, in 2017, my dauther got diabetes type 1. And that really put any fight or travel plans on hold for years.
Now today i feel amazing. But i will rather keep training and feel young, then climb into the ring and get my ass kicked by a hungry kid half my age.
Because even if i feel the same, and move the same, fighting is about split seconds, fast reflexes, and going with the flow in the middle of the chaos that is fighting.
Martial arts is for life. Fighting is for the young men.
