no idea where to put this, but Kawa confirms it’s 5K/5K for contender series
I don't believe that.

That's what I thought. I must have misinterpreted the post.5/5 is what they get on the show itself.
What issues do you have with it? Just curiousThe salary itself of DWCS isn't the problem with it. It's basically a regional card in front of scouts, and the salary is about what you'd get, or even a little more than what you'd get, if you fought for FAC, Titan, LFA, CFFC, etc.
I actually have a lot of problems with the DWCS but salary isn't really one of them...
One is just the selection show aspect of it can make for some really weird and pretty silly situations. For example, Brendan Loughnane beat Bill Algeo pretty soundly 2 years ago. Dana didn't give Loughnane a contract because he shot for a takedown with 10 seconds left. Because it's a selection show, and the show itself needs to have this drama/entertainment angle. So the drama was "Dana wants finishes" and Loughnane was told to take another fight. But that's a bit silly because honestly, if he'd not gone on contender series, if he'd just say won another fight in ACB, or BAMMA, he probably gets signed anyways. So then what was the point on going on the show if after winning on the show he is still one fight away from the UFC? And the funny thing is, the guy he beat, Bill Algeo, got into the UFC after winning one more fight. So after that contender series fight they were both one win away from the UFC, so it makes it kinda look like the fight that actually took place just wasn't a factor at all in signing. What issues do you have with it? In general the show element really taints the effectiveness of scouting itself. When the UFC signs a fighter it has been following on the regional scene, unless it's like a last minute replacement, usually it's because they see something in that fighter that makes that fighter UFC ready. But on contender series, there are a lot of factors. They need to fill cards to have shows, because the shows themselves have ratings. But there might not be that many UFC ready fighters out there at the time. Or if a fighter pulls out last minute due to injury and is replaced by a bum, bum gets knocked out, does that really tell us if the winner is ready? If a fighter is fighting on CFFC, and their opponent pulls out and is replaced by a bum, and he knocks out that bum, then the UFC can easily pass and wait for him to fight a real opponent. But on the show, you get a big knockout, even if you're not ready, you're in the league. And that's bad for fighters because what if you're not ready, you're not experienced enough. It's hard to get back into the UFC once you get kicked out, so if you get signed prematurely then you may have a long road to get back to the UFC if things don't pan out.
For those interested who might be next Russian signing by UFC - next fight of Mukhamed Eminov was cancelled because he got American visa and is in talks with UFC; head of Open FC said that if Maslov wins against Keresh big Western promotions probably will be interested in him.
And Rustam Kerimov confirmed once again in recent interview that UFC didn’t signed him because he didn’t get visa.
There's a chance. But again, it's such impure scouting because of the show element. Contender Series prospects have generally not done well. Often times even, fighters who go on contender series and lose, or win and don't get signed, and get signed later after some more development outperform those who win contracts on the spot.I think with Brendan it didn't help that there was such a big backlash against Dana for not signing him for that reason. Imo if it hadn't been made such a big issue, Brendan would have been quitely signed as a late replacement a couple of months later.

@Hellowhosthat been watching Khamzat clips for an hour or so, at what stage of his record did you jump on the train and become aware of him and his record?
World class Wrestler with a head kick KO. I am interestedhttps://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/296781-tomoya-nakamura
Prospect from Japan to watch. It'll be hard to snatch him from the asian promotions but I'd love him in Bellator or PFL and then UFC.
Any news on Koreshkov's contract situation with Bellator? I thought his last fight was the lastbon his contract so maybe he renewed or maybe this will be his last. For those interested who might be next Russian signing by UFC - next fight of Mukhamed Eminov was cancelled because he got American visa and is in talks with UFC; head of Open FC said that if Maslov wins against Keresh big Western promotions probably will be interested in him.

Do you think he will stay or is there a chance he will test free agency? This will be his last.
If he wins, I could see him going to the UFC if they give him a good contract. He is still only 31, which is crazy considering how long he has been in BellatorDo you think he will stay or is there a chance he will test free agency?
