UFC new signing Khusein Askhabov "lion" 23-0 for Luxembourg signed as featherweight but listed as Bantamweight.

Most top prospects will turn down a good offer from Bellator or other promotions to get a UFC contract
True, it is quiet remarkable the stranglehold the UFC has on the market. If they really want a fighter, they can yave whoever they want.

Keresh just laid an egg. Not just the fact he lost either, he just kind of looked silly trying his weird unorthodox striking with little success. I had higher hopes for him then getting 30-27ed by Klidson fucking Abreau.

Yeah I don't know what the fuck he was trying to do in there really.

Heavyweights are just weird in general.

Yeah, that's a fucking rough loss for an undefeated hopeful prospect. Very much back to the drawing board for that lad.

Bilostenniy, Kornilov, Kovalenko, Medvedev and Allakhverdian are fighting next Friday at RCC. No idea how to watch legally outside of Russia.

I’ve seen one Russian article this year that from 3 countries that websites lists as his (France, Luxembourg and Russia) Russia is the correct one (he is a Russian citizen, from what I understand and lived in France and Ukraine before).

Sherdog lists him as Luxembourg, YouTube has a welcome to UFC video on him calling him undefeated Chechen, as his last fights were with World Warriors FC out of Ukraine. Do not know why they say Luxembourg? Maybe got citizenship? Though Luxembourg rich country would not be easy to get citizenship. And Ukraine would not want a Russian fighter there at time of war. Hope they sign his brother too. IMG_20220430_033516897~2.jpg

According to interview in Russian with him he moved to France in 2011 and since 2014 lives in Ukraine. Yeah, Askhabov brothers are ethnic Chechen. His brother signed with Bellator.

Regarding Luxembourg I thought that I saw interview with them when they said something like that mma scene in their country are not that big so they train in Luxembourg (or Monaco, some not big European country). I failed to find it and now I think it might be interview with another North-Cacucasus-dude-who-lives-in-Europe, like Imavov.

Eduardo Chapolin

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Flyweight
Age : 26
Promotion - SFT
Record : 10-1

This dude is pretty weird. I'm used to seeing flyweights be fast and technical, but this guy fights like a flyweight version of Chris Leben. He has absolutely ridiculous power for the division (only Curatolo seems to have comparable power) and just marches people down slinging absolute bombs at them. Seemingly every time he lands clean it wobbles people. He had a 21 fight veteran like 3D Araujo who's been in there with a few UFC fighters literally running some of the time.

Plus while he was running Chapolin was following him doing chicken impressions, which was pretty fucking funny. Only loss is to current UFC fighter Kleydson Rodrigues.

Felipe Douglas

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 29
Promotion - SFT
Record : 20-5

Buakaw continued his excellent recent run of form with a dominating performance against Alex Sandro. Starting by crowding and grappling the kicker, he gradually upped the tempo, mixing the grappling with his leg kicks and tight hooks while constantly, constantly coming forward and not giving him room to breathe. You could just see the energy sap away from Sandro as he got stopped under a barrage against the cage in the 4th. With his only recent loss being to Rafael Alves, I think he deserves a chance in a major promotion.

This bout tickles my fancy. I don't really watch LFA, nor do I know much about Daniel Argueta, but I like his 0 and I am now invested in the fight.

According to Bilostenniy he is signed with some foreign promotion and has an English visa. From what I understand said promotion cancelled fights of Russian fighters (and allowed him to compete at this RCC event) but he is now preparing to fight at September event for them.

As in the promotion let russian guys fight back home? If so, it might be Bellator.

Sounds like Bellator. It must have been the Fedor event in the Red Square.

Wonder what the situation is with Bilostenniy and the UFC. He has his visa, so it must be UFC insisting he fight on Contender Series for 5K/5K and then a crappy CS deal.

When I heard about cancelling bouts with Russians I thought about KSW. When he said about English visa I thought that maybe he signed with Cage Warriors or other British promotion.

God that Argueta hype train nearly derailed last night. Glad he won. Very entertaining fight. Scored it 48-47 to him.

Could he have signed a contender series fight?
